I was lucky to get to NYC the last time I was there (July 3) early enough and went to the record store outlet in Greenwich Village and bought it directly. Saved me about 22 bucks in stupid service charges.

Still haven't booked my hotel though, but I'm definitely going

We're at Washington Square Hotel in Greenwich Village. It's not cheap, but it's perfectly located next to Love, Sullivan Room, etc.

Yeah I looked into that, only way I'd do that would be if I had 2-3 people throwing down with me to make the price more reasonable

If worst comes to worst I'll just crash at my friends flat on a mattress in Brooklyn...its a dump and far away from the action but I can't afford spending 400 or more for 2 nights stay in Manhattan.

May go the hostel route as well

Get a hostel closer to the festival dude. You don't want to spend ton of money on a cab and the convenience of being closer will be awesome. Even better will be to get a room w/some folks. More ppl= more fun.

Pssst, they have this neat thing called the subway too. I hear it's pretty cheap.

And I looked at the hostels just for shits and giggles because we already have a room, and they're selling out already too.

So Paul van Dyk isn't playing EZ anymore due to a scheduling conflict. I don't particularly care, but some of the comments on the festival's Facebook page made me laugh, particularly this one:

"Oh no. How are we ever going to be able to hear "For An Angel 2010 (Paul Van Dyk's 1500th Remix)" now?"

And now people are like ZOMG BOOK DEADMAU5! STFU, he's a douche and he fucking sucks.

My theory is PVD didn't particularly like not being given a main stage spot and bailed. Or maybe he was never booked in the first place. Who knows?

If they book Deadmau5 or Guetta, I'll barf. Though I think either probably costs more than PVD.

I'm positive Made paid his deposit. I think you are right in that he bailed because he didn't have top billing over the other acts.

I think you're right that he was probably butthurt in not being the top billed act.

Made Events, to my knowledge, are not shady individuals, nor are they disorganized n00bs who bite off more than they can chew. They've thrown major events in NY, Miami, and possibly California (not sure) for years. They know their shit, so I'm sure they paid his deposit.

And if PVD bailed because he's not the top act then fuck him.
