    Pricing on DJM-700 vs. DJM-800

Interesting how the retail pricing on these two is working out. The MSRP on the 800 is much higher but since it's been out a lot longer, it seems to have steeper discounts at the retail level than its dumbed down little brother... At this point, it makes essentially no sense to buy a 700 since you can get either for about the same price, round about $1300...

Anyone seeing anything different out there?

different as in street pricing for the mixers that aren't punishing you on a less featureful product (the 700) just because it's been out less time...

and you're very welcome... I basically just consider it my job, so no worries...

I don't think there is any way around it. We are all slaves to the corporate monster. Allen and Heath does make an excellent! product, but it's apples and oranges. 4 band eq and a superb filter, to 3 band eq and an array of versatile effects and parameter control. A&H used to have the one up on Pioneer as far as their sound quality, but the 800 is right up there in sound quality now. At one of the clubs I resident at they move between a Xone92 and a 800. Sound difference is minimal if even noticeable. It all comes down to preference, more eq control or more effects. Either way unfortunately a good mixer is always going to cost in access of 1000 dollars. :(

Yea i was watching a demo on the 800 vs 700 ...obviously 800 owns for several reasons ..as far as price ..its prob best to pay the few extra hundred for the 800 unless you dont need all the EFX ....But im assuming pioneer came out with the 700 only because they will prob drop the 600 ......the price on the 700 is sure to come down quite a bit with time like all gear.

but doesn't the 700 have midi, unlike the 800? To me, thats pretty major. It opens allot of doors, and the 700 also has some effects the 800 doesn't, right? Like frequency effector or whatever it's called. Sounds like the 700 is a bit cooler, IMO.
