MIND CONTROL THURSDAYS
Sickboy's Farewell Party!
Supplying the sounds this week:
SICKBOY
rare groove / funk / hiphop [Mind Control | www.heavysyndication.com - DC/Albany]
The legendary SICKBOY has been a resident DJ at Mind Control Thursdays since its inception in February 2004. Now he will embark on an extended journey through Europe before returning to his native state of New York. For his final Japone set he brings us something different from his usual blend of drum & bass styles. An avid collector of hiphop and rare grooves, Sickboy leaves us with a special set old classics in these genres.
TITTSWORTH
hiphop / booty / bmore club [www.tittsworth.com - DC/Baltimore]
While providing fast-paced sets and dance floor dominating production, TITTSWORTH is bound neither by BPM or genre. Though often synonymous for aggressively mixed drum and bass, he consistently gains widespread notoriety in hip-hop, booty house, B-more club and beyond. He can transparently span the many classifications of EDM and effectively promote their distinctive events. He’s been a crowd motivator for years, demonstrating the ability to ride out the extended mix, drop on-the-fly at a plate-a-minute’s pace and incorporate his own diverse, original tracks. As one of DC’s most beloved and hardworking artists/promoters, Tittsworth shows control, versatility and a technical attention to detail behind the decks (and in the studio).
AB LOGIC
house / hiphop / drum & bass [Mind Control - NJ/NYC]
AB Logic graces the decks at DC'S Japone once again. It's always a treat when AB Logic gets back through his old weekly. Look for a special set this time. In honor of crewmate Sickboy's trip to Europe, AB Logic will be playing an eclectic mix of house, drum & bass and hiphop. Watch as he takes the crowd on a journey through three different genres. A blended masterpiece.
GODFATHER SAGE
[Mind Control | EXBC Radio - DC]
Godfather Sage is the epitome of versatility, a DJ/producer whose expertise spans many genres including drum & bass, hiphop, R&B, house and broken beat to name a few. This week he's gonna throw a melting pot of musical styles into his record bag and see where it goes from there!
