ok this is a good start. lemme chime in on what i would improve:

love the proggy brooding sound. the kick that first comes in is def too flat, it sounds hollow. i also think its too hard (like hard trance sounding). i would either filter some or choose a deeper kick. ok sounds better nowthat the second kick comes in but i would introduce them both at the same time.
i like the hi hats you got goign but they r not hitting the right frequencies. looking at the spectrum analyzer, theres nothing in the high frequency range. the strings could use more ambience, more layers. they sound a bit too flat. also everything is too centered. u def need more stereo space in ur mix. the dedigeradoo or whatever is nice! add some reverb to ur synths and sounds tho. bassline, boost it up into the mix. song starts hot but doesnt go anywhere after the breakdown, its more of the same so you def need to take it into some direction. hope this helped. i gotta go but def lemme know when u updated this song. best of luck!

werd, thanks john - i'm going to have to do massive fine-tuning; i've only spent about 4hrs so far (alpha as in not even beta yet...).

btw - that's not a dijiridoo, it's a subtractor :) it does sound a bit like a dijiridoo though! i can give you a link to the patch if you want.

i somehow managed to plunk out another lead just a second ago...any recommendations/samples would still be most appreciated.

When you are out of ideas, take a break for a couple of days. If you have that big urge to compose even though you know its just not happening, invest your time making synth patches and sounds that you might use for this track or future songs

yea true that. the prob is all to often, nothing ever comes of them! sometimes just some new ideas about things to do / shit to tweak are very inspirational.

thx man; glad you like it! yea the reverb on that makes a wicked resonant effect; i'd like to turn it up more, but i think it starts to sound muddy w/all the layers going.

perhaps run two seperate tracks one with extra reverb and one with a lil less for the parts that start to sound muddy...ya know like towards the middle and end youll use the 2nd less reverberated one. but i really love the depth that it added. keep workin on this one, sounds like you got a real nice one here.
