I MISS shopping for vinyl in PERSON

I am sick of having to stare at my pc for 3 hours, listening to 30 second samples to shop for vinyl. I MISS Yoshitoshi!! Can anybody please open a new store in DC? Or better yet, in BALLSTON, that would rock! Hey let me ask, what IS the closest shop around here thats still selling vinyl?

you know what... sometimes, I find it better to shop online... it's easier to discover things you wouldn't before... and it's also easier for online shops to purchase a wider range of records since their customer base is that much wider... of course, it's preferred that they have samples longer than 30 seconds :)

Yeah i used to shop online AND in person. But I miss walkign around Gtown in 70 degree weather, and stopping by Yoshi. Plus when you work with PC's at work, you really don't wanna look at one afterwards

I'd imagine the retail store owners miss you and all the djs that used to frequent their stores too. I don't know why the place you talked of closed, but I know the friends I have here w/ record stores (and other types too) are being slowly, but surely, put out of business w/ the internet.

    online shopping in the best.
As great as it is in SO many ways, it's really hurt the small business owner.

So to stir things up a bit here.. what does the owner of the record store have to do to get you to shop with him/her again?

I totally feel John C on this one. I cant express how much I miss Music Now/Yoshitoshi. That was my time to myself to chill, turn the cell off and just relax listening to records. Nothing like that

    me too.
Actually, it'd probably be good to have that perspective thrown in here too though.

Its nice to support the local brick n mortar- but I also do my best record shopping online at 3am when I shouldnt be shopping for records as I tend to buy too much.
