JACKAL AND HYDE LIVE P.A. w/Hallucination on Film // HALLUCINATION RECORDINGS/WWW.JACKALANDHYDE.COM
Jackal & Hyde have been called "the purveyors of the hardcore-electro/breaks sound" (Electro-Core), a combination of Industrial laden Electro/Breaks, and psychotic keys. They are also the only other Live P.A. on the Hallucination Recordings Label along side founders 'Rabbit in the Moon'. Besides their original work, Jackal & Hyde's sound has been requested for multiple remix productions outside the Dance music genre including Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, No Doubt, Love & Rockets, and Genitortures to name a few. Together, Jackal & Hyde push the boundaries of dance music and set the standards for a new era of Electro/Breaks & Ghetto House with classic songs like Beyond, Go-Bang, 20K Freaks, Seek & Destroy, Get Down to my Technique, This is The Sound of Underground and just recently ‘Dark Star’ (Which appears on Baby Annes new 'Bass Mixtress' CD). Their songs are easily recognized by club goers all across the Globe and have appeared on compilation CD's released by the likes of - Taylor, Icey, Westbam, Andrew Weatherall, Simply Jeff, Baby Anne, DJ Venom, Tayo, Y2K, Y4K and countless others. Prepare for an Earth Shaking set and mind blowing visuals from 'Hallucination on Film'.
    Hydraulix (Ash-Rock and JimiThe Genius)
    www.kuad.com / Touchin Bass U.K. / Monotone / Cyberian Knights
Straight from Miami, Florida (the undisputed home of the 808 kick drum) comes Hydraulix, the most exciting Electro-Bass group to hit the scene since Jackal and Hyde. Utilizing futuristic beats with an emphasis on dirty ass bass, Hydraulix have quickly become one of the most talked about groups on the Electro circuit, with everyone from Scratch D of Dynamix 2 to Dexorcist utilizing using their tracks to destroy dancefloors world wide. Richard “Ash-Rock” Zarate and James “JimiThe Genius” Merlo have been dropping bass in their DJ sets for years (most notably as resident DJs for the world renowned Culture Productions), all the while drawing from their childhood influences (2 Live Crew, Cut It Up Def Records, MC A.D.E, and Maggatron to name a few) to create a unique, dancefloor friendly hybrid of Electro and Bass. After becoming highly praised as party rocking DJs locally, Ash-Rock and JimiThe Genius set their sights on conquering the world of production. In late 2003, Ash-Rock and JimiTheGenius completed “The Hydraulix E.P.”, their first commercial releases as Hydraulix, which was released on their self owned imprint (co–owned with Merlyn), Kuad Recordings. The buzz which “The Hydraulix E.P.” generated was unimaginable and the props began to role in for the duo. Since then, the pair has been solicited for tracks by world famous artists such as Andrea Parker, Scape One, Exzakt, and the Cyberian Knights (a collective of some of the hottest artists in Electro including Dynamix 2, Jackal and Hyde, Bass Junkie, and Volsoc to name a few).
Merlyn //www.kuad.com / Dreamscape Recordings / Insomniac Records / Streetbeat / Low Phat
Merlyn’s master plan has been unfolding long before his friends chose his name to describe the magical ways in which he manipulated sounds both behind the turntables and in the studio. Since the early 90's when he was spinning records at house parties and clubs while producing and engineering bass records in some of Miami's hottest studios, Merlyn has always been one to share his passion for music with others. While Miami Bass, which is still a large part of his style today, was the catalyst for his entrance into the world of the DJ and Producer, Merlyn's early days in the underground club scene at the famous Edge nightclub in Fort Lauderdale helped shape the sound that he is known for today by introducing him to early Progressive House and Breakbeat. "Bring Your Luv”, his first record which was recorded under his old "Quest" alias, became an instant American underground classic and catapulted him into the spotlight as one of the premier up and coming Breakbeat producers in the United States, while at the same time, inviting listeners to discover his incredible talent as a DJ as well. His subsequent releases on self-owned Dreamscape Recordings (such as the piano anthem "Search" and the darker acid breaks stompers "Spellbound" and "Incantations") and collaborations like "Path to Redemption" and "Taken” (which were done with old high school friend Jasp 182 on Insomniac Records) have earned him respect as one of the innovators of a sound that can only be described as American Breaks (without the corny samples) meets Progressive House and U.K. Breakbeat.
