After a 2-year hiatus, he's back with "The Beautiful Struggle", and album which is so anticipated that premature leaks on the internet caused Kweli's management to scrap some earlier recordings and release them in sidewalk-style format with "The Beautiful Mix" (which ironically became a legal issue in of itself in the process). The final approved edition contains 13 tracks which include the singles "I Try" (feat. Mary J. Blige), "Around My Way" (feat. John Legend) and "Back Up Off Me". Additional vocal and production help provided by Faith Evans, Res, Common, Anthony Hamilton, Hi-Tek, Charlemagne, Neptunes, Supa Dave West, Kanye West, Midi Mafia and Just Blaze.

Kweli did Around My Way on Chappelle's Show (it's on the musical jumpoff one). The melody is based on The Police - Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, which works really really well.
