    Posting Mixes OnLine?

I have a new demo and I'd like to post it on line for streaming and download. Are there any online services I can use to do this?

Paul, you should be able to do it via your current web host. Since it's a HTTP stream no fancy s/w is required on the host side. Also, I'd recommend encoding it with a VBR of 96Kbps to 64Kbps, lower if you'd like for dialup users.

Personally I'd recommend a MP3 stream since all media players can handle it as opposed to Real Audio which is proprietary.

anyone tried the mp3pro codec? It's supposed to be backward compatible with mp3 when encoded at 52kbps but retains the same sound quality as mp3 at 128 kbps if the client side has the decoding codec. (If the client doesn't, it'll just sound like a regular mp3 at 52kbps)

if you're worried about bandwidth limits, post the link like so:

    http://freecache.org/http://www.your...om/yourmix.mp3

freecache.org caches the mix for you so only the first person actually downloads it directly from your site.
