Uploading a mix to the internet

I might sound really stupid for asking this, but how do I upload a mix that I just created from my computer to the internet. To be more precise, I would like to submit this new mix to a website. Any help will be great. thanks

Keenan, you'll need a FTP account with username and password to access the upload directory on the site.

The good thing is you don't need any fancy FTP software, even Inter Explorer works great with a copy & paste method.

    Let's take an example.

    1) The FTP URL is ftp.somesite.com (note ftp need not be present in the URL).

    2) Type ftp://ftp.somesite.com in the browser's address bar, hit return.

    3) A username and password box pops up. Enter the details.

    4) You should see the directory structure just like in Windows Explorer.

    5) Navigate to the folder of choice, say you had to get to one named "keenan" under home/mixes.

    6) Locate your mix on your hard drive and do a copy.

    7) Simply paste in the folder from (5). You should see a Copying status box show you the progress of the ftp.

    8) When it's done, compare the file sizes by right clicking and selecting properties, to make sure there were no problems.

Good luck! Get me on AIM if you have any problems - djrajdeep.

Yeah, you'll need a website with sufficient capacity to accommodate whatever size your mix is. This is why all of my mixes are hosted on other people's sites and not my own--I don't have enough space.
