    gogo + DnB = ?????

so has there been anyone to make a drum and bass track that uses gogo drums? or is this not such a good idea? :actionmovievoice: It's so crazy it just might work....

you know, that's a really fucking good idea. the go-go beat is crucial. good go-go rhythm blows me away.

    hmm.

I think that every type of drum has been utilized by DnB producers......
Conga's are the dominant drum in Go-Go, and are definitely used in DnB.
I'd definitely like to hear more tabla drums(Indian drums) used in DnB.
I've always thought you could get a unique drum sample from those kids that
play Go-Go on the plastic buckets down on street corners in D.C. Never seen them,
they're out playing on F Street before every Wizards home game.

    I'll fucking make one

Ya man that has been a heavy idea in my mind since 2001. I will make a heavy ass go go track with wicked DNB synths and basslines. I'll make it proper. Dc must be reprezented. I'll even throw in some go go vocals. "18th street, go on girl. Adams morgan, go on boy. hey ladies!' shit like that give a real GOGO feel to the whole thing. apart from that i haven't heard a go go inspired track, the closest was 1998's Throat by the Dynamic Duo on Joker records and it was a jump up track relating to Dj Kool's let me clear my throat. p's

    that wicked kid

yeah, it seemed like one of those "hey, you got peanut butter in my choclate
kind of moments. a remix of "doin da butt" would be muy excellent!!! I remember rockin out to that back in the day at Wildwood on the way to play photon.

ITs hard to sample go go....I have been trying to get good samples for 2 years.....NO LUCK! Unless you all have some sh*t that I ain't got.....I havene't been able to get a clean go go "break".
I do however have the "Pancake House" sample....the chorus...it is clean. GO go is good when incorporated with D&B...NOT BY ITSELF....it is garbage INMO!

While I like go-go and think it's beats are mad infectious, I will admit that it does lack sophistcation and creativity somewhat. So I can understand why some hate it, but I like it.

    re: samples:
Insetad of trying to lift samples from existing songs, why not make up your own. just find some guy who has a set of drums and record him playing them. This sounds like ones of those "eaiser said then done" kind of things. Just an idea.
