    Electronic music you can't dance too??

    EDM = Electronic Dance Music
    Now what if it is Electronic and not really geared to dancing. What would it be?
    I have maybe 14 songs I produced and a most of them are danceable(Happy Hardcore, House Etc etc) But a few are just cool to listen to when you are in an altered state. Closest thing I can think of is Electronic Pink Floyd,( I love Floyd) Lots of cool noises and such, but definitly not danceable.

    Anyone know of some artists out there like this, I have one Aphex Twin track that would probably go into this catergory, but dont know of anything else.
    A day without music is like.....really crappy

    A lot of things I can't physically dance to, my mind does instead.

    Seems a lot of people don't get that tho. *shrug*

    Like, (for me) DnB isn't something I dig on the dance floor. But put some of that Atmospheric DnB kind on the speakers, and I'm liable to be found sitting back, with a grin on my face.

    there's mountians of stuff like that. all the warp stuff starting with the original AI release bak in 92 with autechre, aphex, the orb, seafeel, black dog etc. plus all the stuff that's come since like boards of canada, plaid, tortoise.. check warp-net.com Then there's the whole down tempo scene which is more hip hop influenced but's got lots of nice headphone tunes- luke vibert, coldcut, dj krush, dj vadim, mr scruff basicly a lot of stuff on ninjatune. Lots of other stuff too on smaller labels. schematic if they're still around, kompakt when they're not puttin out techno, basic channel...

    sorry if this is a repost...

    the genre you're referring to, i believe, is called ambient.

    there are lots of great ambient artists out there. four tet, solar fields, ulrich schnauss (tho he's usualyl got a bit of perc in his tracks...) just to name a few.
    book my face.

    i own "cevin key - icolator" on vynil.

    cevin key is the drummer/ keyboards behind skinny puppy. most of his tracks aren't danceable..more like rythmic noise and trippy synths. but its awesome as atmosphere.

    this is the actual record i own. pretty sure its out of press. the record its self is real pretty white and green vynil. the green being transparent.

    3 steps forward is also another album by the same guy. good stuf (IMHO)
