I would recommend saving your money - some of the soft synths coming out these days are just as good - if not better. I was recently thinking about purchasing a Virus Indigo and scraped the idea after using some of the newer soft synths in my friends studio. The new Yamaha CS-80 in particular is very good.
myspace Jay Selway & Magnus 'Stronghold' (Out NOW on Ministry of Sound)
i own a nord lead 3 and a virus b and soon will be adding an alesis andromeda, i gotta say for anyone out there thinking about purchasing a real synth, get the nord, it is the easiest to program and it sounds amazing, as for soft synths they might sound as good but not better, nothing beats the real thing imho, although some of them are very impressive and may be easier to use, i m a knob tweaker and midi controllers just don t feel real,
i chose the virus indigo because it makes for a supersweet controller and the virus engine is intense shit
Good Times!
Not possible: most v.a. synths these days come with 4 or more dedicated dsp's - unless you add all that extra computing power each time you add a soft syth to your rig, then you are simply diluting what exists in your computer, ergo not better as far as computing power goes. Better though for the bank account :) Also each synth has it's own nuances which can't be replicated *exactly* in the soft version.would recommend saving your money - some of the soft synths coming out these days are just as good - if not better.
P.S. I have a Nord Lead 3 too :)
No built in FX but I put an MPX1 after it and it's LUSH :)
I jsut got the EMU Proteus PK6
www.emu.com
soooo tight
But the Virus C is the mad daddy
And you can find those synths for half of those prices
fuck all that jazz
I'd rather have a Mini Moog and an ARP 2600 if i had the cash.
but my budget right now would only allow me soft sythns
:sadblue:
Just got the Indigo 2.....MAN that shit is SICK right there.
geh, i just can't see myself spending $2k to $4k on a synth.
but i can dream :O)
werd to that bro, I imagine it is :)Originally posted by Paul Dailey

if i was rich i'd get the sunsyn but i think the nord offers the most bang for the buck and you cant beat those endless rotation nob thingies.
new mixes >> new tracks >> new stuff >> NeoHz
I wouldn't pick any of those. I would get a Korg Triton.
Oh wait. I have a Korg Triton.
but the Access Virus Indigo II is tight.
where's the A6?
