From a review:
Juon, much like Ring before it (comparisons must be made), is a japanese horror film that successfully crawls under your skin leaving horriffic images and sensations rooted deep within your sub-conscious that will haunt you just as you feel safe to go to sleep.
Whereas in many Western horror films, fear can be a location far away from home, in JUON that fear is brought to the home. The one place we all feel safe becomes the most dangerous place to be. Home is where the horror is. It infests, invades, it spreads, even when we cower under the sheets, it's right there with us waiting to drag us under. Determined, relentless, Juon is damned terrifying.
Me and Kristi watched it last night..ooh boy it was very creepy... The plot is basically the classic haunted house thing..once in a house horrible things happened to a family..but the twist is the ghosts of the family now seek to kill anyone who comes in contact with the house..or drive them insane. You'll jump quite a lot in this film..nothing like the image of a white mutilated corpse crawling down the stairs of a house to get you going..or a girl so frightened of the ghosts of her former friends she covers all her windows with newspaper..because they stare in her window at night..or in one of the best scares in the film for me, cowering under the covers and then lifting the blankets ever so slowly..to see a white bloody face staring intently at you from under there..in the bed...with you..snuggled cozy and tight..ick..also another good creepy moment i posted in the first image at the top..the woman staring DOWN AT YOU IN YOUR BED making this HORRIBLE noise..oh lordy..and then the ghost kid on the be dstaring at you..very unnerving to say the least. The bottom link is for the Ju-on 2 trailer..scary stuff. Highly reccomended.

That's what the history of the world is based on- the link between shoes and a bag. You think it's about Christianity, but it's not. It's about shoes and handbags! -Isaac Mizrahi
