    should i start buying techno-industrial?

so after hearing all the djs at alchemy, who don't really mix at ALL, i decided that i could probably be pretty popular at goth/industrial clubs, since i can usually beat-match and my mixes are pretty decent..... i like techno-industrial as music, but it's not really my scene.... the people remind me too much of myself in an earlier, much more depressive time.... i think however that i could do so much by adding some techno-industrial and even straight industrial records to my electroclash/trance mixes.... the question is; should i spend the time and money involved in doing so? i can't decide, so i'm posting a poll.

Im only kiddin yet again, but for real, if that's not really your scene, then don't waste your time or money in it, it's just that simple.

Beatmatching won't make you popular, I used to DJ for that scene so I know. You'll go through months and months of headache trying to explain to people why what you're doing is better, and just get branded an asshole. Then, if you don't play everyone's favorite Skinny Puppy or Nitzer Ebb track from 1986 every single week, you'll get branded an elitist.

I thought you were suppose to DJ the music you love, not because you want to be popular. Just a thought.

i go to alchemy cause i like that style of music a lot. i got over the not mixing thing a long time ago. and, i admit it, i like those skinny puppy and nitzer ebb songs too. it would go well in your sets probably, but don't try to break into the goth/industrial scene unless you like it. cause it's true, most of those kids don't necessarily care if their djs can mix...

hmmmm.... i think i like Layla's idea.... fuck the goths. hehe j/k i have some good friends who are goth. but they are the ones who would appreciate a good dj. heard of a jaded goth? those are my friends. haha. we all sit around and joke about how if i djed at alchemy, i would be required to drop "another world" at least twice in my set. then my friend jamie proceeds to admit that he actually listened to that track the other night at home..... jeez. the goth scene is getting almost as bad as the rave scene during the trance explosion.... "you're dropping sandstorm again?" "yeah the crowd loves it." "but you've already played it 6 times!"
