Up next, the labels 4th release is the much anticipated LP from Perpetuum and Ink himself, "Hard Soul". From the note itself...
Ink is a producer and DJ whose name holds weight within the Drum &
Bass community, as not only a tastemaker who holds both the ear and the
experience to confidently provide packed rooms and the consumer with the key
cuts to keep the scene moving, but as a producer who has built a strong resume
with each new release. Perpetuum is a technically sound journeyman, using his
diverse musical background to create a delicious sonic stew, one that wears its
ingredients right on its sleeve. The combination of these two chefs brings about a
vast palette of tastes, in the form of this LP, “Hard Soul”. From the late-night
house hype in "The Secret" to the funk/jazz influenced "Blues For The Red Sun".
With a blend of flavours on the LP, one does not feel like the melding of genres is
forced in anyway. In fact the LP is delivered as a completed puzzle. This is
homegrown street music. Deep melodies effortlessly dance with funky bass and
hypnotic drums forming a LP more like a road-trip journey. A long-player in the
truest sense of the phrase. Its not escapist music, but one is definitely
transported into another space and time. Having received support from: Ink,
Perpetuum, Loxy, LTJ Bukem, Gremlinz, Mutt, Skitty Nolige, Aspect, Manifest,
Verb and Cold Fusion, to name a few, this is definitely not one to be missed!
