This mix was originally inspired by DJ Dan's "Tribute to James Brown" mix from 1993. After speaking with Dan recently he told me that he made that mix during a time where everyone in the rave scene was playing harder techno. "Tribute" was essentially his way of going against the grain of what everyone else was doing at the time.

Recently I've sensed a need to go against the grain myself. My live sets have become more diverse and in turn I've become more creative in the way I build my sets. While this mix stays consistent within one genre I feel that it has given me a way to express myself in a different way as well as give you all something new to "chew on."

FREQ THE FUNK was mixed on 4 turntables.

    Disco Love
    Top Brass
    Super Jam
    Poozloop
    Happiness
    Get Up On Ya Feet
    Sling Shot Boogie
    Super Hi-Fi Funk
