Who all is into scratching, not so much as pnly turntablism but incorporating it into your sets?
Ive been scratching now for about a year, and I'm just now comfortable doing it publicly....
anyone else?:gotme:

I can't scratch, but I've seen lots of people do it in their sets...
Even when they can't scratch either.
i just started practicing my scratching regularly last week . . . got myself a mackie d.2 battle mixer and some battle records ... and Q- Berts "Do-It-Yourself Skratching Vol.1" DVD which is very helpful. i think a few months of practice and i should be able to incorporate it into my DJ sets . ..
I have no coordination....

I don't scratch myself... when i learned it was on my roommates tables who was very protective of his tables and needles so couldn't really learn to scratch... then went a while without tables on a regular basis when I moved... but I also had a dj partner who scratched so he always took care of that part haha...
been meaning to pick up some battle records and learn, but just havent... may at some point or may not...

I've been scratchin & cutting a bit myself. Beatmatching & mixing gets a tad bit boring after a while. I've found that hampstering the crossfader makes crabs a bit easier.
At least in my experience, don't take yourself too seriously. Have fun. That's what it's all about. As long as you are having fun, it won't seem like a chore to practice.
I find that a blunt to the dome helps too. ;)
