I saw these in the store and looked them up to see what they were all about. I read a bunch of reviews and they seem like a good idea in theory.

Has anyone tried these? Would you be willing to try them?
I guess the only drawback is having a cup full of stuff to empty then clean, but you can wear them for longer than a tampon and there is no risk of toxic shock syndrome.

They're also reusable which makes them a lot less wasteful.

I want them to know it's possible to actually enjoy having a period!
does it vibrate?

Uh, I think they are also called "Keepers"
I don't really care what it's called if it works.
I do remember reading about these in the book "Cunt". The use of them was encouraged since they were conceived by a woman and because they don't cause vaginal imbalances or tears, and they don't have bleach. :ohnoes:

I don't think it's any more disgusting than inserting and trashing bloody wads of bleached cotton.

You have to clean it though rather than dispose.

ROFL.
What kind of battery does it take? Or do you just wind it up and plug it in.

I know but it's the cleaning thing that grosses me out. It's prob better for the environment and all that but just gross to think about that process. It IS a great idea tho.

"I am 49 and approaching the change with heavy periods, a not too wonderful pelvic floor and a vagina that hates foreign bodies in it"
"Even my vagina seems to accept it."
"the little bags are really cute and the liitle blue ribbons are very pretty. but the actual moncup itself looks kind of scary and medical and we think they should come in different colours and maybe with sparkles."
"would it be possible to get some more stickers. I made the foolish mistake of getting my new mooncup out to show my sister while in a bar with
some friends and some of the boys decided they wanted to wear the stickers"
"the mooncup made me feel unbelievable happy. I felt FREE!!!!!!!!! It made me feel so alive,"
"had a few problems inserting & removing at first, but now I'm getting a bit more used to the cup (& myself - was never so 'hands on' before)"

But yeah. I wouldn't wash my own pads... mainly because I hate them and try not to wear them, though.

Both of my siblings were washable diaper wearing babies. My mom said that by the time she got to me she had enough. I just see myself getting over this whole thing really fast. Same thing with the Divacups. Good idea, but I will stick with my tampons tyvm.

Learning about tampons in wmnst classes was frightening. But necessary.
Still not sure I'd be down for putting a cup inside me. But worth exploring organic and un-everything tampons.

they have them in disposable too... if you want to *try* them. i used them once in high school while on swim team. they worked, but the removing part skeeved me out.... plus you think that you have to change them as much as tampons, but if you try, there's like nothing there... it's strange

This thread will teach us mens to stop peeking in the chick shiat forum.
Or at least to stop peeking in threads that don't have "boobs," or "lingerie," or "what time is the naked pillow fight?" in the subject head.

WEEP WITH HILARITY!
The whole monthly process has to be a joke from nature anyways.
"Hey, you know what would be really funny? Let's make the ones that have boobs bleed out of their girly bits for a whole week regulary and *not* die. Oh! And we can make them horribly cranky during that time so that the ones without boobs can't poke fun at them without risking death! Also, lets make the one set have long dangling mounds of flesh coming out of their crotchal region so that they can randomly hang towels when they're bored. Gotta make up for the cranky thing somehow."
