Curious what y'all like to wear to smell even yummier than your natural selves would be, of course. Perfumes, body spray, body lotion, or maybe even a shower gel where the scent lasts...

In the warmer months I was wearing Salvatore Ferragamo's Incanto Dream.
Right now I am favoring this amazing scented oil that I got in St. Kitts. It smells like warm glazed/powdered donuts.
At Jon's house I have some lotion from Bath & Body Works called Frosting Forever".

Bath and Body works has this Midnight Pomegranate body spray that I lovelovelove. As well as a seasonal pumpkin lotion.

Aside from that, I'm pretty steady with the Tommy Girl and Alfred Sung's "Shi".

There's another one that I REALLY want to pick up that's similar to Shi, but I can't remember the name of it right off. I have a sample at home with it written down, I'll check it when I get home. :)

i wear victoria's secret "heavenly" exclusively now

before i got turned on to this i wore victoria's secret "very sexy" for a long time

i think its hot when you can pick ppl out by the cologne/perfume they wear, and maybe my fascination with this (as odd as it may be) keeps me from being a "scent whore"

#1 Perfume: Calvin Klein's 'Escape'. Something about it makes people want to suck my neck. Potent stuff.
#2 Perfume: Vera Wang. Floral and light and crisp.
#3 Perfume: Lanvin. Good for the office. It also makes people take a second sniff.

I scoff at designer stuff. But designer perfume...

Agreed. I try to find a signature scent and stick with it for a while. I went through a very long vanilla phase...I remember L'Occitane's was great.

What pushes me with regular scents is 100% their reaction to my body chemistry. A lot of scents smell okay on me, but there's a VERY small handful that smells 'fucking awesome'. Usually I do the sample thing, walk around for an hour or so, then check the scent - did it last long? Did the scent change?

Indeed. But even then, I've bought some perfumes where, although it was enjoyable, it wasn't awesome enough to buy it a second time, so I'll try something similar (hence the very long vanilla phase, trying many brands).

One thing I hate is how I am straight up unable to imagine the scent of a product by the description (I mean for perfume, not something like a scented basic lotion). So many times I've been excited by the description of something, and gone to try it in the store and been completely disappointed.

Yeah, they're definitely the suck when it comes to descriptions. I'm really picky about my scents being subtle without a chemical smell or floral hints, and I get really annoyed when I go in expecting one thing, and end up smelling like a daisy barfed all over me.

EmmaK
2007-11-05, 11:08 AM
I feel you on the chemical scent, and I avoid florals like the plague. The exception is that Salvatore Ferragamo, which I love, and I'm pretty sure has something floral going on. It has a flower on the bottle

(My sense of smell is so refined :specialed:)

Bottom line, it has to be yummy, and it has to smell even better when it heats up with my body. I like simple, sugary/sensual scents. I still haven't found "the one" when it comes to fragrance though, been working on it for a while.

Check out "Shi" next time you're out and about.

You sound like you have my tastes with scents.

SHI was created by the design house of Alfred Sung and launched in 2001. The initial impression of water lily and fig leaves infuse Shi with pure clarity, while the midnotes of orange blossom and frangipani create an aura of feminine tranquility. A unique water musks accord breathes. Shi and other genuine fragrances are available at our discount online store. Other women accessories such as body lotion, body cream, body powder, deodorant stick, deodorant spray, shower gel and body oils may also be available .

I <3 body by victoria - not only is is a perfume, but they also have body wash, lotion, etc all in the same scent

During the winter, I'll also wear Opium by Yves Saint Laurent

I've found that the Mango body wash from Body Shop has a yummy scent that lasts a long time (I'm also partial to all things mango, but whenever I wear it, Chris says I smell like candy)

I used Gucci Envy Me and Envy Me 2

Gucci Envy me is a scent that plays on seduction. Full of magnetic appeal, it is the ultimate captor of desires, a source of irresistible attraction that is captured within a sleek, desirable bottle covered in delicate pink Gucci G's. The seductive top notes of Pink Peony, Water Jasmine and Pink Pepper blend intimately with the heart that combines Lychee, Pomegranate, Pineapple with Pink Musk, Seringa and White Tea. Finally the delectable base of Sandalwood, Teakwood and Sensual Musk emerges to reveal the true irresistible experience of Gucci Envy me.

Gucci introduce the limited edition Envy Me 2. Indulge yourself with the essence of desire. A delicious mix of orange, magnolia and violet sweetened with a heart of rose and heliotrope, deepened by patchouli. So irresistible, you can not help yourself - indulge.

My signature scent has and always will be betsey johnson. She discontinued her first perfume and came out with another. I like the new one, but am partial to the old one. Lucky for me, I had a heads up on the discontinuing and bought 4 bottles of it. It's a little strong though, I only wear it at night.
During the day I like to mix it up between Lolita Lempicka or Marc Jacobs. I've also got a big thing for philosophy's so in love. Hempz lotion also has an amazing smell, great lotion too.

Ohh, the other one that I fell in love with at the store and need to pick up is Davidoff - "Cool Water Wave".

Cool Water Wave for Women begins with fresh fruit top notes of watermelon, mango, passion fruit and guava over floral mid notes of peony, freesia, and heliotrope. The scent finishes on base note of pink peppercorn, iris wood, sandalwood, amber and musk.

My all time fave has to be Chanel No. 5.

Oh! And Ysatis by Givenchy.

I've managed to work in several places that sell perfumes etc. Most women understand you have to layer scents in order for them to last. When i worked at VS i would have people spraying me with everything all evening so I would go home smelling like a French whore. So I'm rather picky when it comes to perfume:

Lovely - Sarah Jessica Parker
Chanel No. 5
Organza – Givenchy

You probably rarely smell it on men in public because guys don't usually wear cologne in public. It's usually reserved for date nights and other such booty times.

My cologne time is reserved for weekends and date nights. I have worn scents to work from time to time to get unbiased female opinions. I like to keep it subtle, so it's usually 1 spritz on the inside of each wrist, and spread that around behind my ear and along the neck and collarbone. Colognes tend to be heat activated, and these areas of the body tend to be the most reactive.

Don't lump me in with the rest of these jackals.

It depends. Perfumes and colognes either smell really good and subtle, because they bring out the natural flavor of your pheromones and mesh well with your scent, or or they smell like an absolute disaster. That's why I am very particular about the colognes that I will wear. The vast majority of them smell way too overbearing and way too musky. On both myself and women, I prefer a much more subtle scent. It's the same way with women and makeup, Wear enough to bring out your natural features. Maybe so I don't even notice that you're wearing makeup. If you wear too much, you look like a clown.

Cologne's don't get you laid, they get you noticed.

And if it's Acqua Di Gio, tackled on the street.

I second that approval-

tackled and molested. It doesn't smell the same on every guy but the idea makes me as badkitty would say -- ready for squishy or at least some playful neck biting.

me?

summer - VS pure seduction and endless love
winter- Origins Ginger Souflee and/or Hugo Boss

I thought I was the only one that still liked the scent of Drakkar. If I bought that for a guy I would put it in another bottle though, can't have medicine cabinet riflers finding it...

I used Gucci Envy Me and Envy Me 2

Envy Me is my favorite. I love it long time.

For a scent to be appealing to me, it has to

1) Smell good
2) Not smell to "teenbopperish" (like Britney's perfumes, imo)
3) Not smell like a old woman (ex., Shalimar)
4) Have a distinct smell that's not common
5) Still smell the same (or better) after an hour of wear

The problem with scents, for me, is that after a while they start to smell like something more familiar. I used to wear J'Dore but it started smelling like fabric softener and now Envy Me is starting to smell like grapefruit. After this happens, I have to change scents because I get bored of the smell, but it sucks because it takes me forever to find something I like.

Two of my favorite lotions are brown sugar and fig and gardenia, both by Bath and Body Works.

I really didn't know who Bruce Campbell was or that that guy's name was Bruce Campbell. I didn't realize he was huge in horror films and B films, but is a seemingly smart guy. (watched some youtube interviews).

I did know he was the star of the show, Jack of all Trades that I used to catch. It was a WB, Xena, Hercules type of show where he swashbuckles around in time or someting. It was amusing.

I <3 Cupcake Cult's "Vanilla Cupcake." It smells like a mix of vanilla and malibu rum. And it lasts FOREVER when I put it on.. If I crash in a shirt or something that I wore out for the night, it still smells yummy the next morning. And I ALWAYS get compliments on how good it smells.

A friend of mine has GOT to have that, because literally every time I see her I'm like wow... she smells like vanilla and rum! It's especially delicious.

My two favorites for myself are Victoria's Secret Very Sexy 2 (which I think has turned into VS Hot) and the original Very Sexy, as well as Burberry's Brit. Brit I use mainly only in the winter though, whereas VS seems to be alright no matter what the weather.
