i know, i know the fact that theres no Breaks/Dubstep/DnB in the top 50 is enough to cause 95% of buzzboarders to not care about this list, but im happy for Armin's, Sander van Doorn, Carl Cox, Eddie Halliwell and Feddie le Grand's success on the list!

David Guetta sucked ass when I saw him @ Glow.
Personally even though I like that Armin made this accomplishment, PvD does spin much more engergetic sets then him, and so do Above & Beyond and Ferry.
What helps a DJ along is how well they are able to market themselves to the general masses, no good marketting means fewer votes. simple as that

dlw, dont know what kind of magic keyboard you used to type the list
entries;
but i cant see shit..
top ten
1 van buuren
2 tiesto
3 john digweed
4 pvd
5 sasha
6 above & beyond
7 carl cox
8 ferry corsten
9 infected mushroom
10 david guetta
my concern: what the hell is digweed doing @ #3
i mean, how stale is my man these days..
after not hearing shit from him for like 3 years, except seeing him as a live sasha-jockstrap on numurous occasions, i listened to several long-ass drawn out- no intensity- little variation- nil climax sets of his this year...
all this did was confirm my believe that he had probably washed up on some island shore and dried up..
come to find out he's the # 3 dj in the world. http://www.buzzlife.com/forums/images/smilies/scratchchin.gif
other than that, IM did disappoint this year, so thats a shock..
armin & tiesto, cant argue that - not my preferred cup o tea, but the tini-bopper world likes tini-bopper trance..yay!
do like seeing sasha there...and david guetta- wtf - am i missing something here?
got to mention Oakie @ #12; is nice(or more nostalgic) to see, i did take a minute (or like 10 hours) to listen to bout 6 of his sets across the span of a couple months earlier this year...this just in: he is infact still djing EDM, thought he was solely a classical composer for a minute recently...
-prob cant rock it like a #12 tho..
didnt see 'max graham' at all, wondering if he was ousted (dq'd that is)?
did see 'Westbam' ! what is this 1993!!?
I was robbed... that Myanmar sweatshop full of kids was supposed to be rockin the vote for me... shady little shits...
kind of cool that in the last 9 weeks of 2008 we get to see like 15 of the top 100 right here in DC (and a good number more of them have come thru in the last few months--a good quarter of them all told)...

pointless arguing about it. everybody on this list cheated. the only diff is the degree of cheating., the results shouldnt even be looked at, analyzed, nor debated about, just ignore it.

what a load of bull shit....Andy C wasn't even in the top 50?!?!?!?! He is 10,000x the DJ most of these people are, and I don't even really like the tunes he plays.....he just plays them so fucking well that you cant help but to go nuts. what the fuck.....
general question: So who's in your top 10?
This year I've had an opportunity to hear a LOT of DJ sets from a LOT of biggest and best known DJs in the world. My list is based on what I've heard first hand, but is, to some extent, flavored by past experiences with some of the DJs in question.
Mine:
1. James Zabiela
2. Paul van Dyk
3. Sander Kleinenberg
4. Dubfire
5. Carl Cox (would have been much higher, but I was utterly underwhelmed by his set this past Friday...)
6. Fedde Le Grand (surprise DJ of the year for me)
7. Benny Benassi
8. Behrouz
9. Kyau & Albert
10. Markus Schulz (not really my style, but undeniably a great DJ that really knows how to work a crowd)

simple math. a very small subset of edm listeners in general listen to dnb. so less votes.

Everyone is looking into this entirely too much. The contest is rigged. Simple as that. People who used to work for DJ Mag have come out and said as much. It is biased against non British/European dj's, and anyone who when given a top spot won't play for the DJ Mag party. (Hence why one of the editors said that "Tiesto will never be #1 again" after he refused to play at the DJ Mag event. It's not even worth getting worked up about people. If you like someone go spend the $ to see them or buy their releases, that's how you really vote!

are you sure the top ten djs aren't the top ten gay porn stars at the moment? It's an easy mistake.

Um ur late as hell, the last time Tiesto was number one was in 2004. Its been PvD for the last two years and now AvB.
