The Swedish nujazz project Koop, best known for their full-length "Waltz for Koop" (released on Compost in 2001 and on Quango in 2002), will be performing as a live band on Saturday, November 3 at the 9:30 Club.
Doors open at 11 p.m. and tickets are $20; I'll be the opening act.
For their live shows, the two guys in Koop -- Magnus Zingmark and Oscar Simonsson -- are joined by an additional 5-7 people to form a "swing orchestra." And apparently Magnus and Oscar wear dresses!
"Koop Islands," the long-awaited follow-up to "Waltz for Koop," got a U.S. release this year on Atlantic.
