lol. to be honest I don't really use any third-party plugs, only third-party synths.
Now, I'm sure that most of Logic's host plugs don't compare to a lot of the top third-party offerings, but if one does, it's probably that Space Designer. That thing is a beast.

TC Powercore VSS3
absofuckinglutly. hands down. it's the one.
it's NOT a convolution reverb, so it sounds nice against convolution verbs. yet it's huge in small doses. a beautiful contrast.

Wave Arts master verb that comes with PowerSuite5 is pretty good.
But as Dave said, logic users are pretty spoiled with the included plugs so I dont use many 3rd party.

all convolution verbs sound the same, for the most part. it's the sample files that make a difference, and they can all read eachother's sample files. (sometimes just by changing the extension)
i fucking knew ud say that! lol.

BTW I'll come right out and say it...
FUCK the Waves reverbs!
This is being said by a paid license holder of the Diamond Bundle AND Waves IR.
If you think Waves is the shit and end all, stop reading and start listening.

ya the Waves reverbs im not a big fan of at all and so ive been lazy and using Cubase SX3's Reverb A and Reverb B (yes Steinberg really racked their brains on those names). I tried Waves' convulsion reverb and holy shit its slow and lags. I need something amazing at this point. The reverbs in Cubase sound great if you want samples with almost infinite tails. If you want a short verb for a synth, the shit makes it sound like a Robot just farted out your synth. It blows.

I'm 100% absolutely serious. I paid for both of those Waves packages. Granted, I got a nice discount as a dealer. :D
I use the shit out of them, well I used to anyway. I fully believe in supporting the development of awesome software.
I also fully believe in trying it out before buying a non-returnable $4000 product.
I use the TC Powercore and Universal Audio UAD-1 more than any other plugs. Can't have hardware based effects on my laptop though, ya know.

the TC Powercore Firewire runs about a grand. I feel like I paid around $850 for mine and got it at a time where they were offering the UA-1176 compressor pluggin with it for free. (which is the #2 must have pluggin if you get one)
If you shop around and ask for that price I'm sure you can get it. The promo plugin was from TC, you'd just have cross your fingers on that one.
The VSS3 reverb plugin (the 1st must have pluggin) costs about $500.
It's the reason I bought the thing.
While your at it get the Access Virus synth. It's a Virus C plugin that uses the exact same code as the Virus C hardware. It just uses your Powercore processor instead of the one in the C. No converters, as it's all digital, so it's identical to having a Virus C running digitally. Like 1 for 1 and 0 for 0 identical. I've got a hardware Virus TI and can assure you the sound of the Powercore plugin is up to par.
The Powercore is really a reverb machine though. That's the reason everyone gets them. It's the only way to run the best reverb plugins available. If you could run the Powercore plugins on your production computer without the DSP in the powercore it'd just tank your computer processor because they are so intense and you couldn't record or playback without glitches if at all.
If you're looking for DSP based compessors, EQ's and synths the UAD-1 is the way to go. And just like the Powercore, there's pretty much one reason everyone buys them - the LA2A compessor. Nothing like it... except maybe 10 or so real hardware LA2A compressors ;) Straight up best compressor plugin that exists for computers.

Worth mentioning is the TC Works Native Bundle.
Though not sold anymore, it can be found online everywhere for free.
runs native VST and DXi, no fancy hardware required. The reverbs are "classic TC Electronic 80's and 90's reverbs"
Think PMC81 or PCM91 type reverbs. They are digital and sound it, but they are used on many great albums from that time-frame.... and free!!
