I used to be on it, for several years. Then the hormone cycle-related mood swings started coming back, along with heavier periods. So I switched.

The same thing happened to me. I was fine for the longest time, then out of no where, I started getting really nasty mood swings.
I switched to Yaz 2 months ago and so far, I like it.

Yaz... is that the new low-dose one?
If so... be careful on it. I had a miscarriage last year because apparently I got pregnant on the damned thing.
Exploding babies?
i want a cache of exploding babies
I'd place them stratigicly around the city

It'd give a whole new meaning to "rubber baby buggy bumper"
(and why did exploding babies automatically make me think of Bioshock?)

i vomited every single morning for the four months i took ortho. take pill before bed, wake up and puke, repeat. my gyno kept telling me my body would adjust to the level of estrogen, but no such luck.
on the upshot, it helped to clear my face up but i just could not hang with all the barfing. think i'm a weirdo and am especially sensitive to estrogen though...

Oh and I've never taken Ortho Tricyclen. I was on Orthro Evra for the longest time (the patch) and I never had any issues with it. But I've been off it for months now and my face has started breaking out again damnit.
Must go to doctor and get birth control.

i took it for almost 10 years. had NO problems. then i started getting ovarian cysts. the dr took me off it cause she said over time with tri-phase bc your body can sometimes get a little wacky and start over or under producing estrogen and that was probably why i was getting the cysts.
never more than a 5lb weight gain and no crazy mood swing for me tho.
and yeah ive been off the shit for a few yrs and still have the cyst problem, so it wasnt that.

I've been on it for years with no weight gain or issues.
It's going to be up in the air across the board, BC is really unique to the individual.

That's about what mine are. I'm on Ovcon-35. Except mine lean toward the light side anyway (with or without BC). Occasionally (like 2-3 times/year) they're a bit heavier, 3-4 days.

I was on it from 15-22 and never had a problem with it. No weight gain, no mood swings, and it helped my cramps. Yasmin was fine too. Loestrin FE I had problems with.
Right now I'm on a birth control break because I think that my acne is directly related to the pill.
I haven't had a real (non chemical induced) period since I was 14/15 years old and I'm really worried about how bad it's going to be. :sadpanda:

I used to take ortho-tri.
Hated it. I gained a bit of weight and my periods were still pretty heavy.
Then I switched to Loestrin 1.5/30 fe and loved it. No cramps, lower dose of hormones, and light 3 day periods. I was on it for 5 years.
Which reminds me, I NEED to get back on the pill. This heavy uber crampy periods thing is beat. But I have no time to take off from work. :sadpanda: I'll prolly just go to a Planned Parenthood soon, there's one near my house that's open on Saturdays.
ps. Don't take Yaz. I've known and heard about quite a few people who have gotten pregnant while on it.

I didn't like the funky stuff that got stuck to the patch's edges from the adhesive. Did they update that or anything?

it wont be bad for a few months.
i dont take bc either. when i stopped, it took 3-4 months for everything to reset back to normal.
sometimes i get crampy, but its actually a whole hellova lot better than when i was a teenager. back then i wanted to die once a month. now its a minor annoyance.

I don't know from personal experience, but yeah. That's ALL I've heard about it.
Sometimes I wonder if I've even been pregnant before? If I have then I've never been aware of it. I'd be kinda interested to know for some reason. :ponder:

Hmmm. Before I went on the pill I wanted to die once a month. Then I took bc for 6 years and had no problems. Now that I'm off it, I want to die once a month again.
My dr. once told me that the awful cramping would probably go away once I had my first child. We'll see I guess.

I haven't had too much of a problem with that (although now that you mention it, I've noticed that a LOT less now then when I first started it) - if I ever see fuzzies, I just grab a cotton ball & some rubbing alcohol, clears it right up.
To me, that's not enough of an annoyance to stop me from using the patch - plus with where I put it (front, WAY lower abdomn), Chris would be the only person to ever see it...

Same here, I thought it was gross. Convenient, but gross. I would go back to it if they figured out how to fix that.
