This is even more crazy than Tommy banging Pamela all across the yacht that is the internet! I'm gonna roll through on this one, so don't get me wrong when I ask if he's gonna DJ upside down over the audience? Whoa!

Let me explain this booking --

Tommy Lee was booked to DJ at the grand opening of Angel's Rock Bar at Power Plant Live -- however, with his switch to dance music, he requested that he also play at Mosaic. We are doing Angel's a favor -- we are good neighbors. We want their grand opening to go off without a hitch, so we are making sure their headliner is happy.

Tommy Lee and Aero will be playing an hour to hour and half at Mosaic -- from 11PM - 12:30AM -- THAT IS IT. So, if you want to see this, come early. If not, come late, as Adam and I will be taking the decks at 12:30AM.

I hardly think this booking ruins the rep of the club -- take a look at the schedule of guest DJs playing through the end of the year -- silly if you are crying tears because of an hour of programming at the club.

It's really not that bad of a booking, and personally I wouldn't mind checking this night out just to see what Tommy Lee is pushing.

You read the article on clubplanet and he says he's over rock.

Let me add --

We are not paying anything for this appearance, it is covered in his agreement with Angels. He is determined to be taken serious has a dance DJ -- and instructed his agent to secure his appearance at Mosaic to further his rep -- he had done some researched, talked to some other DJs who have played Mosaic, and had his agent check with other agents about their DJ's experience playing with us. Again, he is taking no additional $$ to play for us -- think that says something.

Frankly, I am flattered.

I wasn't saying anything against to booking, hope you didn't think that... just saying Tommy Lee isn't that great a DJ... that's all. I am sure that will bring some heads out too though, the spectacle at least.

I have to admit, when I first saw this booking, it seemed really gimmicky to me.
Another celebrity cashing in on—and exploiting—DJ and EDM culture.
However, after reading that article, it seems like Tommy Lee is pretty passionate and serious about all this, and it seems like he and Aero have a rather impressive booth setup with the capability of making some interesting things happen live.
I'd honestly be interested to give him the benefit of the doubt and come see—and hear—what these two are capable of.

However, I'll be out of town (again) this weekend.

Psymon, you saw this act a couple of years ago; perhaps Lee's skills have improved in that time. :elad:

Let me add -- while he may be playing dance music, being that I expect to be hanging late into the night with the guy, I hope he still acts like a rock star. Judging by the fist-a-cuffs at the VMAs -- I am sure he does.

Looking forward to hanging in our green room.

Well damn! Sorry to sound redundant, but after reading that article, I wish I was living closer to Baltimore! Sounds interesting!

I saw Perry Farrel spin in Detroit about five years back, another "rock"/DJ crossover. He blew-me-the-fuck-away! Amazing tribally techo/house! I was dancing my ass off!

I think what these guys have coming with them into the DJ arena is a deep understanding of how music is made (well, for Farrel anyway) and also how to work a crowd!

Do they have any recent shows/mixes online anywhere?

Matt Sanborn

how does that joke go?

what do they call a guy who hangs out with a bunch of musicians?

A drummer.

The usual Saturday night cover. Free before 10PM. $10 after.

Everybody "wants to be taken seriously." Would be one thing if he was a halfway decent DJ...

I fully understand the booking in a business sense though.
