DEADMAU5 - FAXING BERLIN / JADED
RIDICULOUSLY HOT. He's on fucking fire.
Anybody else feeling this like woah?

Personally, I am not a big fan of this package. I think all the other stuff he has done is far better than these, these are just uninspiring. Now the remix he did of Unknown, that is dope as hell. I just think Faxing Berlin goes no where at all....

Steve I'm the opposite of you - I haven't really dug much of his other stuff - it's definitely really popular, but I'm not into that minimal-esque glitched out electro stuff too much.
But I really like Faxin Berlin, especially the Chris Lake edit. There's just something really hypnotic and groovin about it that just sucks me in.
Jaded is nice to listen to, but it has zero energy and I wouldn't play it in a club unless it was really early.

The Burn mix that does it for me is the 16bit Lolitas dub - that is seriously one of the most beautiful, engaging instrumental tracks I have heard in years. The Beatport sample doesn't do it justice.

What's funny Steve is that we both fall into the same genre of 'electro-ish house', but our styles are worlds apart and rarely intersect.
That's a great example of just why house music is so damn good right now.

The Chris Lake remix is clearly superior to the original. I bought this release, as I buy everything Deadmau5 puts out, and it's chill, I grant you, but beautiful.
I actually have plans to play Faxing Berlin (Chris Lake Edit) and Deadmau5's remix of Prime 33's "Burn" on Saturday... :D
I'm psyched to hear stuff that's not fucking electro from him, honestly, because I definitely heard a lot of talent in his previous releases, but have been waiting for his electro fetish to fade... hooray that it finally did!

Both Faxing Berlin and Jaded have both grown on me, quite a bit in fact. I think they are both an aquired taste. Very refined productions IMO. I love the Chris Lake edit!
That said, they certainly aren't your peak hour fare. They work great if played at the right time.

in my humble most honest opinion i think that just about every deadmau5 tracks sounds alike in one sense or another... much like pryda. but each track rips in it's own way. so i conclude by saying... deadmau5 for the win...whatever track it may be.

I passed up on both when shopping on Beatport the other night. :elad: They aren't horrible.. but definitely not my cup of tea.
On the other hand, I picked up like 3 or 4 of Deadmau5's tracks..

The Chris Lake mix of Berlin is the fucking shit, though with exception to the big buildup, a little simple and mellow overall for a busy dancefloor.

Agreed, the Chris Lake mix of Faxing Berlin is quite good. I really liked the original mix of Not Exactly by Deadmau5, also. Solid bassline...

So last night I went to play Faxing Berlin....
Yeah, I apparently either was drunk or something but it was incidentally that new track by Tocadisco. So I guess in theory I have not heard Faxing Berlin yet.

Trust me, the previews definitely don't do it justice.
I wanted so badly to drop this in my latest mix, but i opted against it because I already had 2 deadmau5 remixes in the 16 track mix... heheh.
I ended up using his remix of Burn & his remix of Matt Rock - What U Feel.
Both sick ass track.
I am posting said mix on here right now actually :)
So since it's agreed deadmau5 is ftw, listen to my mix!! heheh.

Faxing Berlin reminds me a lot of the supermayer remix of Gui Boratto's "Like You".
one of Adam K's new joints (Twilight) sounds suspiciously similar to Faxing Berlin... I played Jaded last night (first time I've played it out, actually) and Twilight as well... :) Also dropped Will Fail (completely accidentally... queued up one track, started playing another... yay for on the fly beatmatching... lol)

hmmm.... maybe it WAS Faxing Berlin that i was playing... so confused now but when you mentioned Twilight i know what you're talking about. they sound almost identical.

they sound eerily similar - as ramz said - so i couldnt help it..
the flow is impeccable tho..
i think twilight is a far better production than faxing...
faxing is kinda like, well, like zodiac said... =)

Twilight did make it in my latest mix (mixed in after Ricky Stone & Timo Garcias Rattlesnake) and I think those 2 tracks go well together, Rattlesnake is such a beautiful, deep song just like Faxing Berlin, Jaded and also Twilight. :)

Better than my ass and my propensity to accidentally hit the play/pause button on the wrong fucking cd deck when I'm distracted and "in the moment".
And I swear to fucking god I hate Five's CD set up in the main booth. That thing still gives me nightmares. Moving the pitch control on one and brushing the play/pause button on the other. Hard to beat match when you stop the beat you are matching to.

Actually it's more like Jaded and Faxing Berlin merged into one super track. It's awesome melodic house, check it out.
