Hailing from the area known as South Philly, the home of the legendary heavyweight, Rocky Marciano, Mason aka Myster Mason is as intense as anyone could be. This strength of character and no nonsense approach to life is the fuel to Mason’s powerful production style. With releases on Freak, Eastside, Intasound and the monumental signing to Metalheadz, Mason has exploded into the international arena. 2004 has nothing but good things in store for America’s brightest star. Mason began djing in March 1998 with the most basic of set ups ( a belt driven Gemini, an old ass technic w/o a pitch-shift and a 2 channel mixer that barely even worked) . Within less than 6 months Mason quickly caught the attention of some of the leading promoters in the east coast, and landed his first gig at Space. From that point on there was no looking back and Mason quickly established his position as one of the top drum and bass djs in the east coast. It was not soon after that Mason took it to the next level. After seeing his mixtapes perform amazing sales numbers, Mason ventured into the world of production. Philadelphia, having a strong musical history and culture, was the perfect environment for a budding composer. Outside of drum and bass the likes of Beenie Siegle, The Roots, Jill Scott, Jazzy Jeff and more were developing into fantastic talents. Drum and Bass in Philadelphia was not to be left behind. The city boasted of the biggest and best line-ups that could be found anywhere in North America. Each week you could hear and see the baddest of dnb talent and being an integral part of the scene, allowed Mason to interact and feed from the most brilliant in the industry. Mason is not only a musician but also an artist. His work is featured each year at the annual Mummer’s parade. This talent was used to design the environment and decorations for the events produced by Local 13 where he is the production manager. Although Mason has totally immersed himself in the world of drum and bass, he has maintained a strong connection with the rest of the world. Like every Philadelphian, Mason has a fond love for hip hop and some future projects include work with the Mental Sharp. His tastes in music extend to rock, dancehall and house. He draws from each love to create a powerful and unique sound.

MC Armanni's introduction to drum and bass was an experience shared by many first timers; Sutpens’ Jungle, February 2000. His first mixtape was “DJ SS live at Sutpen’s Jungle” on which the vocal skills of MC Skibadee gave Armanni insight to the lyrical potential of drum and bass. Sighting MC Skibadee as one of his influences, Armanni has developed a distinctly powerful and diverse style of lyrical delivery which has garnered respect amongst his peers as well many of the top dnb mcs and djs in the World. Staying true to his hip hop roots, Armanni delivers bounce, flavor and lyrical wizardry. As part of the duo, Mental Sharp, MC Armanni ,alongside MC Sharpness, has already released the full length “On and Poppin” with another album scheduled for release on Photek Recordings in 2005. Already, Mental Sharp is burning up dancefloors worldwide with their latest single “Fahrenheit 215”. Thus far, live performances by Mentalsharp have received fantastic reviews and future shows are set to raise the bar even higher.

You might not know this producer off the top of your head, but that's probably because he has more aliases than your average mafia don. Rene Reyes produces drum and bass alone under the name GENR8, alongside Ill Factor as Alliance, and as The Chosen alongside SST, Glitch. As a man with a diverse production portfolio, it comes as no surprise to know that his background is equally diverse. From his successive Drum Corp World Finalist titles in 1997 and ’98, to his experience teaching sound engineering at the prestigious Full Sail academy, to post production projects for the 3D-animation studio Dreamworks, it is no surprise that both his drum skills and production skills are amongst the best in the genre. Besides the previously mentioned projects, he is also constantly collaborating with some of the scene’s up and coming all-stars as well as long time heavyweights such as DJ Craze with whom he has done several successful tracks. His colab. with infiltrata “positive aggression” has been getting the rinse treatment in dancefloors around the globe for a while now. His last colab with counterstrike from south africa was picked up by Evol Intent Rec. and its currently out on 12” promo and on itunes. Several other colabs on the works include StuC4C, Gein, Brazil’s BTK, Psidream and some more work with Infiltrata. Between all his projects combined, GENR8’s belt is getting thick with labels like Human, BC Presents, Evol Intent, Intercom, Cartel, Nemesis, Habit, Incite and Cymbalism just to name a few. This year promises to be a heavy one for Rene as he will be adding to his already intricate schedule with a strong focus on the DJ platform.

Hailing from the area known as South Philly, the home of the legendary heavyweight, Rocky Marciano, Mason aka Myster Mason is as intense as anyone could be. This strength of character and no nonsense approach to life is the fuel to Mason’s powerful production style. With releases on Freak, Eastside, Intasound and the monumental signing to Metalheadz, Mason has exploded into the international arena. 2004 has nothing but good things in store for America’s brightest star. Mason began djing in March 1998 with the most basic of set ups ( a belt driven Gemini, an old ass technic w/o a pitch-shift and a 2 channel mixer that barely even worked) . Within less than 6 months Mason quickly caught the attention of some of the leading promoters in the east coast, and landed his first gig at Space. From that point on there was no looking back and Mason quickly established his position as one of the top drum and bass djs in the east coast. It was not soon after that Mason took it to the next level. After seeing his mixtapes perform amazing sales numbers, Mason ventured into the world of production. Philadelphia, having a strong musical history and culture, was the perfect environment for a budding composer. Outside of drum and bass the likes of Beenie Siegle, The Roots, Jill Scott, Jazzy Jeff and more were developing into fantastic talents. Drum and Bass in Philadelphia was not to be left behind. The city boasted of the biggest and best line-ups that could be found anywhere in North America. Each week you could hear and see the baddest of dnb talent and being an integral part of the scene, allowed Mason to interact and feed from the most brilliant in the industry. Mason is not only a musician but also an artist. His work is featured each year at the annual Mummer’s parade. This talent was used to design the environment and decorations for the events produced by Local 13 where he is the production manager. Although Mason has totally immersed himself in the world of drum and bass, he has maintained a strong connection with the rest of the world. Like every Philadelphian, Mason has a fond love for hip hop and some future projects include work with the Mental Sharp. His tastes in music extend to rock, dancehall and house. He draws from each love to create a powerful and unique sound.

MC Armanni's introduction to drum and bass was an experience shared by many first timers; Sutpens’ Jungle, February 2000. His first mixtape was “DJ SS live at Sutpen’s Jungle” on which the vocal skills of MC Skibadee gave Armanni insight to the lyrical potential of drum and bass. Sighting MC Skibadee as one of his influences, Armanni has developed a distinctly powerful and diverse style of lyrical delivery which has garnered respect amongst his peers as well many of the top dnb mcs and djs in the World. Staying true to his hip hop roots, Armanni delivers bounce, flavor and lyrical wizardry. As part of the duo, Mental Sharp, MC Armanni ,alongside MC Sharpness, has already released the full length “On and Poppin” with another album scheduled for release on Photek Recordings in 2005. Already, Mental Sharp is burning up dancefloors worldwide with their latest single “Fahrenheit 215”. Thus far, live performances by Mentalsharp have received fantastic reviews and future shows are set to raise the bar even higher.

You might not know this producer off the top of your head, but that's probably because he has more aliases than your average mafia don. Rene Reyes produces drum and bass alone under the name GENR8, alongside Ill Factor as Alliance, and as The Chosen alongside SST, Glitch. As a man with a diverse production portfolio, it comes as no surprise to know that his background is equally diverse. From his successive Drum Corp World Finalist titles in 1997 and ’98, to his experience teaching sound engineering at the prestigious Full Sail academy, to post production projects for the 3D-animation studio Dreamworks, it is no surprise that both his drum skills and production skills are amongst the best in the genre. Besides the previously mentioned projects, he is also constantly collaborating with some of the scene’s up and coming all-stars as well as long time heavyweights such as DJ Craze with whom he has done several successful tracks. His colab. with infiltrata “positive aggression” has been getting the rinse treatment in dancefloors around the globe for a while now. His last colab with counterstrike from south africa was picked up by Evol Intent Rec. and its currently out on 12” promo and on itunes. Several other colabs on the works include StuC4C, Gein, Brazil’s BTK, Psidream and some more work with Infiltrata. Between all his projects combined, GENR8’s belt is getting thick with labels like Human, BC Presents, Evol Intent, Intercom, Cartel, Nemesis, Habit, Incite and Cymbalism just to name a few. This year promises to be a heavy one for Rene as he will be adding to his already intricate schedule with a strong focus on the DJ platform.
