View Full Version : WATER OR COKE?

*My friend sent me this... very interesting!!*
WATER OR COKE?
This is really an eye opener... Water or Coke? We all know that water
is important but I've never seen it written down like this before.
WATER
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is
often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as
3%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost
100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day
could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of
sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory,
trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer
screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon
cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and
one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
And now for the properties of COKE:
1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons
of coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car
accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in
two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola in! to the toilet bowl
and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The
citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a
rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals:
Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the
corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to
the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan,
wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham
is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the
Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of
greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The
Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains.
9. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
For Your Info:
1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4days.
Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck
must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly
corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of
their trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a coke or a glass of water?

Hey look, if 50 people suddenly jump off a bridge in front of me, I'm going to assume there's a god damn train of anniliation on fire coming for us at 200 miles an hour, and jump off too. If it's just one idiot, then he can enjoy his freefall solo.
When my grandmother used to ask me "Well if everyone jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?" I'd say "Well if EVERYONE is doing it, there's a pretty good chance, there's a good reason!"

I think that the biggest problem is the amount of sugar in soda. Seriously, that shit makes me want to curl up & die. After I detoxed last year I realized how much soda was actually killing my immune system. It's because of the sugar content too.
There's a dude I work with who refuses to drink water. He thrives off of drinking coke but is always looking like shit or getting sick. I keep tellin him to lay off the sugary stuff but the mofo doesnt listen.

you know... in reference to water tasting like nothing, IMHO, it does have a taste. It also might just be the thirst-quenchiness (new word) of the water, but on a ridiculously hot day, nothing tasts better to me than a huge glass of ice-water! it's almost a flavor in itself, however, as I said, that may just be my body rehydrating and the taste of stale hot-mouth leaving... so i dunno...

I try not to drink soda cuz of the sugar. my roomate and i had a conversation about this last night or maybe the night before. I drink soda when i take shots to chase them and for the caffiene if i need it and i do put them in my lunches for work but most of the time i end up putting them in the fridge and resorting to water.
soda causes me to break out and i find the less i drink the less i break out and water clears me up along with other skin care products i am now trying. I can honestly say that water is my favorite thing to drink and thats all i drink besides cranberry juice, chocolate milk, and an occasional raspberry iced tea.

I could but at this point in my life I get heartburn almost at every meal (I like spicy foods) and I have to drink something with my meal anyway and soda is cheaper than all other liquids except for tap water. I guess I should also say that I NEVER drink a full soda and that most times I don't even drink half of one. fortunately a little carbination goes a long way :D

I firmly believe that there are three things worthy of drinking in this world: Water, Beer, and Tequila. I will explain:
Water> Water comprises most of you, and everything else. Drinking a gallon of water a day increases metabolism and digestion, making the body's energy distribution tip in favor of actual physical movements and brain activity, rather than involuntary tasks. Therefore, water is good. It has also been scientifically observed that mental processes have significant effects upon the constitution of water. Interesting.
Beer> Can keep for a long time, tastes great, nutritious (in moderation), and makes most people happy and easier-going, relieving stress.
Tequila> Anyone who knows me, knows that I support Tequila drinking. It is a pain reliever, mood booster, and TRUTH SERUM. It also tastes incredible, and is given an undeserved bad rap. Drink Tequila, it is good.

actually, hot chocolate has as much caffeine as a cup of tea... (but still half as much as a cup of coffee)
you should drink decaf green tea, or just an herbal tea if you feel the need to drink something hot. i have found that the effects of coffee or tea are mostly psychosomatic with me... so even if its decaf i feel more awake after drinking it.
i quit drinking coffee over 3 years ago cause i found out it was responsible for my almost monthly migraines... (since i quit i have only had one or two of the fuckers)
i drink tea now like its going out of style. Earl Grey tea with a teaspoon of honey. usually about 3 - 4 cups a day.
i have found that drinking a lot of tea, it suppresses my appetite, so it helps me not over eat or "graze"
