I recently decided it's time to start working out. I have been doing 30-45 minutes on the elliptical and 30 or so on the stationary bikes. I am looking for something to really tone my abs/stomach to add to my routine. Also... as I have gained about 20 pounds, I have also gained it up top... is there any way to keep that?

1. your boobs will shrink, but they will be tighter and far more desirable if you do upper chest lifting
2. add weight lifting to your routine
3. monitor your diet carefully. The abs will fall in to place with all of this.

if you're not down with the heavy medicine ball, you can substitute in one of those inflatable workout balls or a soccer ball.
some other excercises are listed below that article as well.

V-ups are good for upper and lower abs. i do them holding a 20 pound medicine ball in my hands, and then holding a ten pounder medicine ball between my feet.
oh yeah, and sex, great for the lower abs

This man speaks the truth
No way to just target the abs - all about overall fat loss. All the exercises suggested in here for them are great though, abs can be worked out a billion different ways, which is nice, since it's an exercise area to never get bored with really.

get the bean! it intensives your crunches...
floor crunches are bad for your back and not very effective
oh and try the 5 Factor Diet, the exercise and diet plan on this routine is AMAZING!

floor crunches are only bad for your back if your form is off. Ive been doing them correctly for years and have never had a back issue that could be linked to ab workouts. infact any issues that ever arises dealing with my back are quickly resolved by working out.

MY absolute favorite ab and quad exercises:
sit on a mat or the floor with your legs extended in front of you.
lift your legs/feet up with your back straight about 3-5 inches off the ground but keeping your back straight.
then with your arms extend your arms and hold to the right for 20 seconds, then raise them above your head for 20 seconds, then to the left for another 20 seconds.
do that about 10 times with 2 sets. Don't cheat and put your legs down.
it kills but is sooo good.
for your butt and thighs
I used to use some light ankle weights but you might want to work up to them.
sit on the floor like you are crawling.
bring your legs up - bend your knee
you can also do kicks in the same way - kinda like a dog peeing on a hydrant.
And also kick your leg straight up into the air.
Do at least 10 on each side and then at least 2 sets.
If you have free weights at home, do as many lunges as possible holding 3-5lb free weights in each hand. I would walk across my house with them.
( i miss working out. damn broken leg :( )

*Thirds the medicine ball*
I'll also add resistance pilates for core work. None of it is going to show if you don't factor in overall body fat though...

Sucks ass but it's true. Your ab muscles can be ripped as shit but if you've got the slightest amount of body fat it's gonna be hard to see. My abs are still cut from 10th grade but I've got some body fat around my midsection that makes it hard for the sixpack to show through... AND I'M SKINNY AS FUCK!
My remedy to get 'em ripped again is to continue with drinking green/white tea as much as possible since it naturally burns fat as well as staying away from virtually anything with transfats or junk calories. Oddly enough I'm on a weight gain diet & everyone keeps telling me to eat anything in site including fast food... people just don't understand. For someone like me... I can do away with all the garbage but up my calories using quality food to gain weight but stay lean at the same time.
Silly Americans.

ugh... you're right about that. i occasionally cheat on some items and the i realize why people used to always tell me it's bad for me. i'll never go back to fast food though. that shit is awful.
