View Full Version : 06/09 - BREAKFAST with FERRY CORSTEN - Party on the Cheap with DI

Despite what you might think from the thread title, this is NOT actually a morning event... I just got a little carried away with teh pun of having a local up and coming DJ named "Breakfast" on the same bill as Ferry Corsten... You may throw tomatoes if you like, but I would like it to be known that I'm a fan of nice, vine ripened beefsteaks...

Wanna go to GLOW to see your favorite international headliners but can't stand the typical FUR experience? Come party with District Ignition @ GLOW!

First, when you indicate to the clipboard girl (her name is Kristin...say hi...) that you're on the District Ignition List, you'll get in for a reduced admission ($10 off or $15) until 11:30PM. Kristin's a nice girl, but she is a bit of a guest list nazi, so make sure you're there on time if you want the full discount. After 11:30, you'll still get in for $5 off (taking it down to $20), though, so not all is lost... Since we'll be working the lines outside, we'll be able to verify that you're on the list and hand you your free/reduced pass before you even get through security. So, even if you get in line a little on the late side and security is really slow, you won't get screwed at the door by making it to the ticket window at 11:35. Don't wanna wait in the line? Don't! The DI Guest List means you'll be able to skip straight to the "cuts" line that is always much, much shorter than the general admission line.

One of us stunningly handsome DI guys will also be outside with a magical DI stamp. This stamp will allow you to get exclusive access to the District Ignition Lounge located above the Arena (Main Room) dance floor in an area that was once referred to as the "Non-Smoking Mezzanine". You can see and feel everything going on in the main room without the hassle of being bumped into and accosted by random pervs--a definite safety zone for anyone that has ever had their ass grabbed @ FUR. What's more there's a bar right there where you can almost always walk up and be immediately served. Please note, that if the turnout in the main room is on the light side, we won't be able to actually open the DI Lounge. We will push for it to be opened every week, but in cases when it's not, you'll be able to find a strong DI contingent at the bar immediately to the right of the DJ booth, underneath the mezzanine. You may find the following map somewhat helpful...

For now, this list is separate and distinct from our normal DI list that you may have signed up for to go to SNATCH or FUSION, so the best way to to get access is to email

glowlist@districtignition.com

You should receive a confirmation email back within a few hours of your submission to the list. If you don't, please hit me up via AIM (ramseyja13) or PM me here... We have had a few instances with some email providers marking districtignition.com email as spam, so you might have gotten the confirmation back sitting in your junk box... Check there and ensure that we are on your safe recipients list to avoid this issue in the future...

As ever, DI appreciates your support and patronage.

ps. who the hell is Breakfast
he's a local DJ/Producer from annapolis, MD. He is signed to Ferry Corstens Flashover recordings lable. Currently his newest tune "The Sunlight" is all over the DJ world. It was recently a a future favorite on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance for a few episodes. Its also on Ferry Corsten's newest compilation Passport: United States of America.

His earlier claim to fame was him and Big Mike's remix of Filo & Peri's Ordinary Moments, on PvD's Vandit lable. He has a few other releases out.

In a recent Interview Ferry claims he's gonna be the next big thing in trance/progressice.

His real name is Casey and he just turned 18 recently. For those who visit GLOW regularly, he is always there, and he's up in the DJ booth alot of with the high profile DJ's coming through. He even gives me the hook-up sometimes.

pretty cool dude, I wanna collaborate with him sometime soon.

General admission for Ferry is $25 @ the door. Be on the DI list and show up before 11:30, you're in for $15. Be on the DI list and show up AFTER 11:30, you're in for $20. Either way, you're in the DI Awesomeness Line...

The DI line is key here ... there are typically hundreds of plebes waiting to get in at the other line, so not only does everyone sweat you and your special line-skipping awesomeness, you get lots of onlooking typical fur-dwellers jealous and feeling inferior; wondering what they did in life to not be as cool as you. The general answer of course, being, we don't wear sunglasses in dark clubs and our collars are not in the popped position.

Ferry Corsten is currently touring North America to promote his latest compilation Passport United States of America. He will be performing in 22 cities over the 30 days. Corsten, a pioneer and dynamic force in the electronic dance music industry, has never ceased to amaze and challenge the zest and talent he exudes in his productions and musical sets. His philosophy of "Create your own path, be yourself, and strive to make a difference" creates an amazing collaboration of mind, body and spirit between Corsten and iKY Clothing. This fusion of music and fashion is reflected in the Ferry Collection featuring his signature "F" logo and iKY Clothing detail on every garment.

iKY Clothing will also be touring with Ferry Corsten to promote his line in major cities across the United States which include Chicago (at Another Level on Saturday June 23rd at 7:30pm) and Miami later this year. In each iKY event, Ferry fans will be able to meet Corsten and purchase merchandise.

Commander Salamander is located at 1420 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. Ferry Corsten is scheduled to appear @ 7pm.

What Glow (or Fur, i'm not sure who is responsible) does on nights like this is they'll start letting people pay more to cut in line, and they'll hold up 'vip lines' to do it.

If you want to get in in less than an hour, either buy tix in advance or get there when the club opens and get into a vip line.

Yeah.. they did start asking if people wanted to pay a cut fee in the plebe line at Bad Boy Bill... but our line still moved pretty quickly...

My camera apparently dislikes bass A LOT, so apologies for the shitty sound quality... Ronda wasn't feeling well so we ended up bouncing around 3AM, so what you see here is a small, chronological representation of the video that I shot between 1AM and 3AM. BTW, the pink things you see in people's hands are makeshift glowsticks made of PINK energy drink cups that were there as some kind of promotion... Anyway... looks like a crowd completely absorbed with being seen to me... what do you think?
