I didn't see a thread started about this yet. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I just found this article and I like a lot of the recipe in it. I like when you can just pick out a few things you want, and go to the store for those things. It's enough to miss the foods you want to eat, and not having to make up your own healthy recipe's. At least, when you're busy.

I saw these the other day and was wondering how they're supposed to make you get a flat belly.

Losing weight is simple, burn more calories than you consume! You want a flat belly, do cardio, eat less calories.
A.) Take your weight x 12= X amt of calories you need to substain your current weight daily
B.) Then take your desired weight x 12= X amt calories you should now start consuming daily.
The difference in A and B will be the weight you start to lose, simple!
Edit: For example I am 190 pounds so my daily intake is around - 2280 calories a day.
I want to be around 170 pounds so I need only 2040.
It takes 3500 calories to burn 1 pound of fat, so 2280 - 2040 = -240 calories a day then what i used to consume so I will lose a pound of fat every 14 days.
I would be at my target weight around a year at this rate.
Simple!

It's some written up items that are automatically calculated to how many calories you should consume in a day. So you can just pick and choose what you want and not worry about counting calories.
This is meant to be combined with exercise, I think specifically cross training (these same recipe's have been in two articles). The article says that you shouldn't just diet alone.

how much you excercise makes a big difference in how many calories you need per day. It isn't soley based on how much you weight times 12.

this link has a good estimator of how many calories you need based on a few different elements.
and this link can give you an answer based on more details:

I got to thinking how many calories I usually eat in a day when I'm not drinking any beer, or making a special recipe, eating out, etc...
I usually have bacon and eggs for breakfast with a piece of fruit or two averages ~400 calories
For lunch I'll either buy a salad, or I'll have leftovers from the night before, averaging around 500 calories for a serving of meat, with 2 servings of vegetables
Dinner is usually 4-500 calories (I make a bigger portion for lunch) of a meat serving and 2 servings of vegetables. (asparagus, broccoli, green beans, brussel sprouts, and greens(Kale and Collards) are my veggie staples)
I'll usually work in starches on the weekends when I'm with my girlfriend.

I'm the worst at dieting. I need to find one that I can easily follow.. that, or just start counting calories like I've done before. Boo.

Ive never counted calories and never did the math on that. I think I fall somewhere between what I am suposedly consuming at my current weight and where I want to be. As for workin' my body, I walk at least 2 miles a day (to bus stop and back), and my job is 99% on my feet walking around the building... with the occaisional sprint to a stat ER call.
Within the past 2.5 months, Im down 22lbs and counting. It helps that I can convert kilograms to pounds as the scales at work only measure in kgs.

I don't like the word diet. I like lifestyle change better. Makes it sounds like you won't gain the unhealthy weight back.
My husband needs to lose weight so he started eating vegan like me and he has lost 10lbs already. I just have to hope he keeps it up. Although seeing as I do most of the cooking, it is safe to assume he will.
