I've been mentioning this stuff sort of all over the place so I'd like to centralize it. It may be just so I can talk about it with a group of ladies that will respond, but who knows, you may find it interesting.
I visited my Endocrinologist yesterday, and it went well. My weight is up, but my hemoglobin A1C is still in a good range (6.8). Well, he asked why I thought I had had my two seizures, and I told him it was because I was trying to tighter control so I could explore fertility testing and options with better chances. Ideally, the range needs to be at 6.2 / 6.3, which is hard to do. So I tried too hard, and crashed a couple times.
That lead to more conversation about my infertility issues. We think, it's caused by ovarian antibodies, which basically made me menopausal starting in my late teens. I don't get a period with out taking birth control, and I only take it for hormone replacement therapy. I've never had much testing done, despite seeing a reproductive endocrinologist when I was a teenager. (Fucking Kaiser, worthless fucks.)
I have an appointment on the 17th with a new doctor, at a center that is an OBGYN / Fertility Specialists. I have a slight idea of some of the tests they'll want to run, just to rule some other things out. Ultrasound being the most important, to check and make sure I even have normal looking ovaries. (It's possible I only have what's called an ovarian smear, or sort of loose floating ovarian tissue with out eggs.)
It's just all so much.
My regular Endocrinologist
OBGYN / Fertility Center
Reproductive Endocrinologist
High Risk Obstetrician
So many terms. :( All this, and really, I mostly want to adopt. A big part of it is if I'm going to start trying, it's going to have to be fairly soon, like in the next couple years. After 30, my chances go WAY down hill and the complications get even higher. My husband wants to have our own child tho, but he's not ready. It's a catch 22.
Done rambling.
