First. No. I am NOT pregnant.

But I know quite a few of us ladies have had babies, or are having babies. So why not share pregnancy stories..? And of course anything about our kids, if they're already out of the oven.

I'm going to type mine up after my girls go to sleep. But quickly: I have two little girls. Skylar is my oldest, she's 2. Claire is my youngest, she's 1. They're 14 months apart, and they're like night and day.

I was 19 when I got pregnant with Skylar, had her at 20. I was 21 when I got pregnant with Claire and had her at 21. I'm currently 23. I know the math doesn't look like it adds up, but it does. :D

Some pictures! [which some people may have seen already =P]:

Also, I know there are quite a few of us getting married, too. Whether you plan on having kids soon or later down the road, it never hurts to hear some stories, and kinda know what to expect.

So lets hear 'em!

And anyone who wants to make a mockery of the thread, like the majority of the girly threads.. :flamethrower:
..thats all I have to say. :D

ohmygoodness so precious...can't contain...SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!! :eee:

Actually, that's really weird...she sort of looks like me at that age, right down to the facial structure, skin tone, and hair color. Perhaps I shall try to dig up a when-I-was-that-age photo later :ponder:

Your kids are cute. :)

I think James and I are going to enjoy just being married for a while before the kids come. Also, my mom couldn't ever carry a pregnancy to term after having me for some reason. I hope that's not something that's passed on and whatnot. :-/

Okay. Finally got the midgets to bed. :D

I'm going to try and make my pregnancy experiences as short as possible.. because they could go on for hours.

Skylar

I found out I was pregnant with her shortly after moving from DC to Lynchburg, VA with Matti. I got sick after a chill out night with some friends, sipping on some vodka and cranberry.

At 11 weeks I thought I was going to miscarry. I ended up not being able to keep anything down, including fluids, for 24 hours, so I was rushed to the ER. I got hooked up to IVs and all that crappy stuff. I was given a 50/50 chance of miscarrying, because the baby had detached partially from the uterus' wall [I had been thrown off my horse a few weeks beforehand, not knowing I was pregnant then]. The doctor said if everything mended well, we'd have no issues.. if it didn't correct itself, I'd miscarry. Obviously it corrected itself, because Skylar is here. :D

I was sick the whole nine months I was pregnant. I mean sick.. throwing up all the time, very low blood pressure, faintness, and all that wonderful stuff. Most morning sickness is over after the first trimester.. so I was pretty jealous of anyone who only had to deal with it in the beginning. :shady:

Other than what was mentioned above, I had a pretty normal pregnancy.

I was four days overdue when I was scheduled to be induced. We decided to go that route because of how sick I had been the whole nine months. With lots of pitocin and an epidural, Skylar was born 10.5 hours later. She was 6.9lbs and 18 inches long. Dark hair and dark complexion.

You know as a parent, you're bias about how beautiful you think your baby is. But even up until today, I have people stop me while I'm shopping, and tell me how gorgeous they think Skylar is. I even had a grandma come up one day, and right in front of her daughter and grandkid tell me that Skylar was the most beautiful baby she had EVER seen, when Skylar was four months old. Her daughter had the most peeved look on her face, I was a little embarrassed.

Claire

Neither of my pregnancies were planned. I was on the pill both times. But finding out I had gotten pregnant AGAIN, with Claire, all of five months after having Skylar was the biggest shocker of the two. I think poor Matti thought I was going to chop off his man-bits, because I flipped. Of course I didn't find out until getting thrown off of someone else's horse, landing straight on my stomach, and then going out drinking with the girls. I got so sick after the girls' night out, and then two days later threw up my lunch.. yeah, I pretty much knew then, and the test only confirmed it.

My pregnancy with Claire was pretty easy, thankfully. I only got sick occasionally.

My water broke the day before I was supposed to be induced. They had to give me pitocin to speed up my contractions, because they weren't strong enough after my water broke [you have to give birth 24 hours after your water breaks, or you run the risk of getting a bad infection.. and I think the baby can get it too..]. With pitocin came an epidural.

We did have a little bit of a scare during the labor. Claire's heartbeat dropped for about six minutes. There was talk of a C-section if it happened again, which it didn't. During the pushing we had a little more of a scare, because when I'd push, her heartbeat would drop again.. but we continued like normal, just watching the monitors carefully. It turned out the cord was wrapped around her neck three times.

Claire was 7.13lbs and 21.5 inches long. Very fair skin and blond hair. While Skylar had the petite look going, Claire had the cute chubby cheek'd look.

So there are my pregnancy experiences, as short as I can make them. But they are definitely like night and day, personality and looks wise.

Skylar looks like a mini-me. She even has the same color hair, and it's thick and curly like mine. And she has the longest and thickest eye lashes in the world - they're usually the first thing everyone notices. She's very high strung, very dramatic, but luckly not very high maintenence [sp?].

Claire looks a lot like her daddy. She has my curly and thick hair, but all of his crazy ass cowlicks. She's more high maintenence [sp?], in the way that she wants your attention a lot more. But she's a cuddle bug, and very laid back. I definitely see her being the laid back, funny girl that likes to make people laugh.. as opposed to her sister who's going to be uber girly.

Now, I want more people to share! :paddle:

It sounds like you have utter peaches for daughters :D
And it's apparent you're a good mommy, too. That's something I always notice from your posts, you're definitely devoted to your family

Aw, thanks! :smooch:

And they are definitely peaches. Though I wont lie.. I love when I can give them over to grandma about once a month and take a breather. :meditate:

I accidentally super glued my fingers together a few weeks ago while I was working on an "art project" I sent to a friend in the mail...... a giant mural of Janet Reno screaming "EAT MY PUSSY!"

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread. Carry on!

My daughter is 4 1/2. aka 'Mimi' (Amarrah is her real name). Ummm...let's see. Had her at 22. Pregnancy went pretty well-her due date was 10/6 but I knew I was going to have a September baby. She was born 9/30 at 10:24pm. (i knew it!).

She's really a mini-me, even though I'm a gemini and she's a libra. Eats, breathes, and lives music (esp EDM and 'smooth jazz' as she puts it)....very artistic-much wiser beyond her years that's for sure. And she takes very good care of her mommie-always wanting to get me laughing Buddhas :lessthanthree:

Only one baby for now but i'm sure that will change soon :cloud9:

ill share a little.

knocked up at 18...obviously i wasnt the model of maturity at that age, so i didnt handle the whole hormone body change very well. i didnt like any of the physical aspects of being pregnant at all. i was a hormonal mess the ENTIRE time and would freak out then cry about any and everything. the one funny freak out story that will always stick out was an incident at the grocery store where i asked for the manager so i could tell him to go fuck himself. i wasnt very big at all...couldnt tell i was even pregnant until about 6 months along...then i got a little belly, but by month 8 i was a house. i couldnt sleep, my back hurt, my legs hurt and even though i was really active til that point (didnt have a car and walked everywhere) i wasnt able to do as much.

i didnt get any odd cravings until then either. at 8 months all i wanted was candy and chocolate. my jammy jam was chocolate pudding pies. i would buy a grahm cracker crust and a box of instant chocolate pudding...make it...put it in the fridge for 10 min and sit on a chair salivating til i couldnt take it anymore...then id just get a spoon and eat it...usually the whole thing...in one sitting. my love of junk was a joke amongst my roomates. the would do shit like sit a pack of hostess cupcakes on the counter and take bets (unbeknownst to me) on how long it would take me to claim and eat them.

i started going into labor one morning when i woke up and had a lovely time with it for 15 fucking hours. id say around hour 10 they finally got around to getting an anesthesiologist in there...then everything was cool. thank god for epidurals.

once she was born...i kinda forgot they numbed me up and went to jump off the bed and fell on my face :specialed: and the nurse yelled at me. once they had her all cleaned up and tested and weighed and all that jazz she came to my room and i wouldnt let them take her away while i was in the hospital. she slept in that bed with me the entire time. (a trend that continued til she was about 4, doh!)

....oh and the next morning...it was THE most glorious feeling in the freaking world to empty a full bladder...

That made me laugh.. a lot.

My biggest cravings with Skylar was Taco Bell. All I ever ate was Taco Bell.

Claire, I can't remember my cravings.

But with both girls I couldn't eat burgers - I don't know why. Fast food, restaurant, home cooked.. if it was a burger, I puked. It was strange.

And to this day, thanks to Claire, I can't eat eggs. Just the sight of them makes me remember how sick she made me when I ate them..

smells would make me puke. not any one smell in particular, just weird random smells. i remember once driving and catching a wiff of something outside...pulling my car over and hurling. i thought it was something IN my car so i started tearing it apart looking for the culprit.

I have two kids and would like one more but we have been working on it for three years and it isn't going so well. Secondary infertility. I am still thankful for the two I have!

Hunter is five and a half. I had him when I was 25. We had just gotten married and I got pregnant on our honeymoon! Total accident for course although we weren't using protection. We forgot the condom that night and I don't do chemical BC.

I had a normal pregnancy with him, once the shock wore off. OH and I didn't find out until I was like 12 weeks (very irregular period!). So I like skipped the entire first trimester! LOL I was working in Tokyo and my husband was stationed on an aircraft carrier so he missed most of the pregnancy. Then 9-11 happened and he was sent to Afghanistan. Luckily I went three weeks past my due date and I was fighting induction tooth and nail, and they flew hubby off the ship in case they did have to induce and there were complications. SO he was there for the birth and then flew back to the ship and we didn't see him again until Christmas.

Birth was intense and natural. I avoided chemical induction and had them strip my membranes. I had him in a military hospital which sucked but we were overseas and it was free. I puked a lot and even peed myself at one point. Don't eat garlic toast while in early labour! I tore with him because I was made to push on my back. Horrible birth experience. But the kid is cool so it was worth it :)

Hunter is intense and funny. He is playing t-ball. He loves spiders and super heroes. He build things and has a great imagination. He also has a wicked temper (my fault!) and has trouble communicating his emotions. I am homeschooling him and he is currently learning to count to 1 Billion (seriously, his choice. He is writing it down on paper! LOL)

Kaide (pronounced KYE-day, it is Japanese for maple tree) was born when Hunter was almost three, so I was 27 almost 28). I worked out and ran throughout the pregnancy and was in great shape. I worked until my due date, had one day off and then she was born! Labor was fast. One hour, maybe 90 minutes. We were stationed in Sicily and lived on base. We were 45 minutes from the hospital. Obviously we didn't make it so she was born in the back seat of our Ford Focus on the side of the road by an orange grove!

Natural birth of course. I pushed her on my hands and knees. There were no streetlights. She was born in the caul (sac) so we had to break it open before I could push her out. She was big and the labour was so easy. No tearing. My husband caught her and my mom (who had flow in that night from England) watched! It was cool. Then the base sent an ambulance and I got to flash my bare behind to a bunch of security guys who then told people they helped deliver the baby! LOL

Kai is sweet and loving and almost three years old. She loves books and sharing. I think she will be an early reader. Her vocabulary is amazing for a 2 year old.

It wasn't too bad. Not ideal but it wasn't the worst thing. It was scary at first because she didn't cry or make a sound when she came out but I think it was because the birth was pretty gentle. She was born in darkness, no crazy bright lights or doctors manhandling her.
