Over the years, I have developed an affinity for taking a 10 mile hike to the middle of nowhere, and just chilling out and camping. I had planned a few trips over the last few years, 4 of which were spoiled by shitty weather and/or other factors. Only one came to fruition, and we actually had to abort the hike about halfway to the site because it got unexpectedly cold, and one of the chicks who was with us was extremely anemic.
Anyway, I've always noticed that the best hiking/camping spots are in the middle of nowhere. These spots are not marked as designated camping areas, I just sort of stumble across them.
I plan on going on at least a few trips with Liz over the spring/summer/fall of '07. The problem is, all of the places I know of in this area suck balls. So, someone should spill it. Where the good sites at? I've been to Great Falls, and that is my favorite around here so far. But I know there must be better ones than that.
I have a hiking pack, a tent, a sleeping bag, etc. Everything that I would need really. My pack can hold food and clothes for a 3-5 day trip (though, they aren't planned on being that long.), depending on how I arrange things. I already have a few people interested in coming with us, but the more the merrier I suppose. If interested in going on one of my trips, hit me up.
Anyway, point being........someone let me know of some good sites. I need to get back in shape and have fun. Nothing gets ya in shape like hiking 10 or so miles with a 75lb backpack on. :D
