Dayhota's the sickness; her coming over here is like, uh, real Chinese food at DC Chinese restaurants.

Dayhota is one of the sickest DJ's I have heard Male or Female!! It is rare that se is on the East Coast at all so I suggest that you don't miss her!

SuperJane!

That's right, she's 1/3 of the SuperJane triumvirate. Yeah, any of those three DJs on the East Coast is like finding Bigfoot on the streets of Oakland: rare and worth seeing. Or hearing, or whatever.

I might take the CHinatown bus up to the city for this. Your mass transit system (well, the subway at least) is still 24-hour, right?

DJ DAYHOTA

A Chicago veteran of house-music, Dayhota has entertained at clubs worldwide: Centro-Fly and The Limelight in NYC, Motor in Detroit, Rain and Ice in Las Vegas, Sno-Drift and Ruby Sky in San Francisco and Level and Nikki Beach in South Beach (Miami). Her sound has graced the international speakers at top-flight venues like The Guvernment and The Docks in Toronto, Batofar in Paris, Zapata and The Lab in Germany, Macarena in Barcelona, Seven in Melbourne and The Underground Café in Sydney to name a few. In an industry dominated by male influence, Dayhota and fellow DJs Heather, Colette, and Lady D paved the way for future female DJs, shaping DJ culture by forming the all female DJ collective SuperJane. In 2000 SuperJane went on its first national tour and in 2002 its first international tour.

In 2002 Mixer Magazine nominated DJ Dayhota as one of the Top 100 DJs, while URB Magazine nominated her in 2004. Not only is DJ Dayhota a feature talent of the underground world, but she rapidly gains mainstream recognition with featured stories on the pages of Billboard, XLR8R, Spin, Jane, Nylon, and Velocity. With her energy, unique style and undisputable talent she is becoming the conduit between the underground world of house and mainstream America.

What's in store for miss DJ Dayhota? Keep your eyes peeled for this media darling in the making as she takes off this spring on a worldwide tour to promote the release of her mix CD Catch Me (sponsored already by MAC Cosmetics, Big Shot magazine and Diesel clothing). Dayhota also has more remix projects in the works for Tommy Boy as well as original production to be released on independent labels. This DJ is the kind that Groups ambition with talent and she will continue to make her mark. Look out for DJ Dayhota!!

HEATHER HEART

One of the better known techno DJs, Heather has been traveling the country promoting her diverse styles for over a decade. A key player, she has been bringing the sound and culture of electronic underground to the forefront since the early years.

Featured in such publications as Paper, Billboard, New York, XLR8R, FrontPage, Village Voice and Jane, her work has been recognized for her captivating style and contributions to the advancements of electronica. The fanzine "UNDER ONE SKY" which heather published from 91-96 created a forum for the US and global underground to meet and flourish.

Her appearance in the groundbreaking film "BETTER LIVING THROUGH CIRCUITRY," along with the inclusion of her music in the films soundtrack, showcased her talents to a wider audience and earned her newfound respect. "...one of the most amazing, stirring DJ's I've ever heard" quoted one fan after an incredible, dancefloor filled, spin session at Guernica, NYC.

The world renowned record shop SONIC GROOVE was born through the collaborations of Heather, Frankie Bones and Adam X, and continues to push the boundaries.

CONNIE

Born and raised in Queens, New York City, Connie appeared in the house music scene five years ago and has become a familiar face in the NYC underground house scene. Connie has spun her eclectic mix of funky house, tech house, electro, acid, minimal and techno all over the world and alongside the most talented DJs/producers, like Vincenzo, Jeff Bennett, Konrad Black, Terry Mullan, Jesse Rose, Adultnapper, Patrick Chardronnet, Martinez, Jay Tripwire, Jason Jinx, Chris Duckenfield (SWAG), Collette, DJ Ali, Sean Dimitrie, Nigel Richards, Mazi, the Hacker, and Darren Roach to name but a few. Currently, she spins regularly at NYC's top venues like Crobar, Pacha, Sullivan Room, and Le Souk to name a few. Connie has also spun outside of NYC, in San Francisco, Miami, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Vancouver, Ibiza, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Prague, Mexico, and most recently, BRAZIL!!! In March, Connie won the Village Voice DJ Spinoff Contest and spun at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. She will hopefully be spinning in Germany and Sweden in February 2007.

When she first became a part of New York's dance scene, Connie was shocked to see how few women were DJ-ing the many parties around town. Never one to settle, she has been teaching women to spin for over two years. To date, Connie has had 15 students. In addition, Connie is teaming up with Halcyon Record Store to foster and promote local female DJs via an event called "Ladies’ Night," which features a new female DJ spinning on-site every Thursday.

In February 2006, Connie was given her first remix assignment by entertainer and singer Von Von Von. The "House of Von (DJ Connie’s Jinxed Out Mix)" will be featured on a 12-track album coming out soon. In addition, Connie, with friends Elon and Justin R, founded Cement Recordings, their record label. Connie looks forward to producing original tracks in 2007.

Can anyone send me to links of what these DJ's currently spin? I'm not trying to go up to NY to hear more electro influenced tech/funky house, which is what it sounds like many of these DJs spin.
