Biography for Jason Jollins:
Being considered among New York City's top house dj's is no easy feat, and Jason Jollins has accomplished this by consistently delivering high quality sets with each given opportunity.
Jason Jollins started DJ'ing during the late 80's. Initially spinning freestyle and house music, he continued to cultivate his DJ skills through the early nineties, embracing his love and talent for the art. Best known for highly technical and well programmed sets, Jason's sound can be best described as a dark and danceable progressive house fusion of techy, electro, tribal, melodic, sexy, bass-line driven & vocal dubbed elements.
While music has always been a passionate hobby of Jason's since an early age, in the mid 1990's, the demand for Jason's live sets transformed this hobby into something much greater. Since then, he has had the privilege of playing alongside world renowned DJs such as Sasha, Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk, Steve Lawler, Lee Burridge, Chris Fortier, Hybrid, Juan Atkins, Armin Van Buuren, Marcus Schulz, Hernan Cattaneo, Above & Beyond, Seb Fontaine, Nu Nrg, Oscar G, Anthony Pappa, Darren Emerson, Ferry Corsten, Max Graham, and many others.
Aside from holding down a Godskitchen residency and his performances overseas, Jason has continuously held high profile residencies at NYC's top venues such as Avalon (NYC), Centro-Fly, Filter 14, the Roxy, Webster Hall, Spirit (formerly Twilo), Crobar New York, and currently throws regular events @ NYC's LOVE while playing regularly for Made Event @ Pacha New York. These opportunities have considerably elevated Jason's status as a DJ and have given him the platform needed to form the strong following of fans that he has today.
In the late 90's, Jason formed an event production company called "United Underground" which still lives and thrives today. United Underground currently throws one off events at top clubs in NYC and also throws a monthly Friday night party at club Love. Love has been called the clubber's club for its superior sound, psychedelic chill out room, cascading waterfall and a seriously dark dancefloor with a sound & lighting rig that rivals any big club. Through Jason's Unified Friday events, he is able to give back to the scene and has built a home for local, national, and international talent to share there passion within there craft.
While appearing on many of the top internet radio stations, Jason has held a monthly radio show on Proton Radio for over 4 years being one of the first dj's to host a live Proton Radio dj show. He has also recently started a monthly radio show on Di.Fm (Digitally Imported Radio).
Jason's record label, Acute Recordings, is considered to be one of the top progressive house labels coming out of the United States. Launched in 2002, Acute releases have graced the charts of many of the worlds top talent including #1 charted releases on the prestigious balance record pool, #1 charted releases on edmdigital.com and beatport.com, and with releases creating buzz in several magazines and online media sources.
In 2007, Jason will continue to tour around the country and globally while releasing the quality tracks that fans have come to expect from Acute Recordings. Jason's diligent work and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed; his passion for music continues to inspire him while his profile continues to rise.
