hmm..the breakdancers ( large group of about 20 dancers) meet regularly every Wednesday night at Sky Lounge in Federal Hill. There has been talk of adding cover charges to Sky, if so we'd prefer to find an alternate place to dance. I know good love has some room downstairs and on thr 3rd floor, but are the other floors open on Wed? Would they permit breakdancers?

the third floor has a nice wooden floor, and could be good for a crew . . .
but sometimes for smaller parties, they run the dj set up in the downstairs main bar, which doesn't really allow enough space for breaking.

yah sky lounge used to have a very small downstairs only wed night thing going but the breakers sort of mde it big again, come to sky on a wed at midnight or so and youll swear it was a friday or saturday, tons of people and babes and dancing and merriment and consumption of inebriating beverages.

But I have heard that they are thinking of adding cover charges and what not, and that just doesn't fly with us..the only reason wed exploded is because of us as entertainment, and then to force us to pay as a consequence of making wed popular is bullshit. We'll see what happens.

man, i would love to have some breakers.

while i WLL admit that sometimes a HUGE circle of breakers can monopolize a dancefloor and make it a bit cramped for others, a few outbursts of helicoptering head spinning smurfing glory can totally make a party shine.

i used to break in middle and high school. then i got uhhh, lets say "lazy" when i went to college. lol. but i play lots of stuff that you guys can certainly get down to.

we are on the first floor for now, there isnt much room to break down there. but honestly, this is the second time we are doing this...i cant see why they would not let us move it upstairs (you might have to go to the first floor for drinks)...the soundsystem on the first floor isnt really that good; if we were to set up upstairs on the third floor the sound up there would probably be better throughout the whole club, im totally willing to present that to the management and see if theyre ok with that.

i didnt know skylounge was planning on starting a cover charge..dont know how i would feel about that :/....p.s. im playing there on the 14th (monday off for MLK Jr. day so dont sleep lol)...i really love that place. many good memories.

ANYHOOOOO im really into music that would be good for breaking, grooving or just relaxing. my boy kevin is even more so into the hip/trip hop thing than I am, so you can take that as you want. :D

i think cover charges are shit (unless theres some top shit person coming in who the promoter had to drop some serious coin on)
