I have a promoter who wants to book me overseas (I live in Canada, and I would be travelling to the UK). I was wondering if I need anything such as a work visa, or anything of that nature.
If anyone has played overseas could msg me, and fill me in on some things I should know before I commit, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well that seems easy enough. Thanks*
As for calling that number, I am not sure if I can afford the long distance when I am not sure whom to ask for, what to be asking about, or what is on the other end.
Thanks guys. I really appreciate the input, put my nerves to rest about travelling.
Also, I have a friend whom wants to get into playing overseas, and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations, tips, contacts, anything of that nature I could link him to. He has dual citizenship in Europe and Canada, but doesn't know how to get booked for distant gigs. I mainly got booked by chance and this is my first time heading over to England, so I didn't really have much input on how to promote overseas at this point.

A 613 area code is a number for Ottawa. L/D isn't that expensive while dialing in Canada if you just buy a calling card which will give you lots of minutes for $2 to $5.
Hell, its probably the number for the English Embassy.
Hello from a fellow Canadian. :D

You need a work visa to perform in another country. Had a bit of an issue when I went to Vancouver. Got by w/ the "I'm just visiting some friends and they are having a house party" excuse.

Haha, well Ottawa isn't so bad... Thanks for the heads up.
So yeah, about the visa issue, I know one or two dj's that have been stopped at the border due to the work visa problem, but then there is also others whom say they are visiting, and seem to get by without problems.

If this is not a regula thing make sure that you do NOT mention you are working because you may have problems.
