The first 2 weeks are strictly DI residents but as Jason said we'll be bringing back the bookings for other local talents.

There's one entrance and one fee/check off on the guest list to get to all areas of the club... Chroma is the VIP section, however, and does require special wristbands and such to get access--they used to let all women in without question, but I'm not sure if they still go that angle...

Sorry, but considering that it's also a nickname for vagina, it seems like a pretty unclassy name for the re-opening of a company's party, hence my orange text. Doesn't really matter that it was meant to refer to something else; the word has double-meaning culturally, and I find it hard to believe that wasn't taken into account. There's nothing wrong with snatch itself, just stating my opinion on using it as a party name and cashing in on the double-meaning. Not that "class" is necessarily any promoter's goal in this city.

HOWEVER, congrats on moving on from Ocean Drive, this is a much better location for a party....more accessible, and naturally draws a bigger crowd :yes:

I think Jason said it best... We're gonna start off with a few nights of banging-kick-ass music and than "we'll start bringing in DC's best and brightest to rock the joint"... Than well see where it goes for there... I personally liked the format we had at PreFix but I think there is a lot to build on and seeing as this is NOT Ocean Drive and NOT in Wheaton... I think we have a good chance to start up a Friday that is a whole lot more fun and convenient for everyone.

As for the name, Snatch... The party will be in the old Vault so you can infer the whole thievery aspect... but it's also nice than we finally get to name a party after poontang as well (*extra bonus points).

Emma makes a good point, but I know everyone always had a great time at PreFix and in the end I know that it is the music and the good people that will attend this new venue that will speak more for this party than the name.

Friday's format will be dictated, largely, by what we're able to do with Saturdays... If we're able to arrange a prefix formula party for Saturday nights, I see Fridays as being a launchpad night and, perhaps more importantly, a night that will represent a much larger number of genres... So, yes, trip hop, breaks, and even dnb may find themselves represented at Snatch... But no trance... it's already represented in the club on the Chroma floor...

I have no problem with nudity on a club flyer.
In fact, I'm all for it, if it's tastefully done.
Execution is everything when it comes to using sex to promote, and a poor execution will yield unfavorable results.
As I said before, it's the difference between sexy and trashy.
Relegating a half-naked woman to a corner of a flyer looks like a cheap afterthought.

The new model is an improvement, but in the future, I'd like to see you guys try to integrate the image a bit more.
The girl still has a "slapped on" feel, and her presence serves no purpose other than as eye candy.
For future flyers, try to find a unique, creative way to merge the image with the message.

You want people to choose YOUR party, because you feel you guys have something to offer that no other club on Friday nights can offer.
Aesthetically, your flyer should reflect this same thinking.

This party is not a Buzzlife support party. Nor is it an attempt to bring back the rave. We have decided ultimately to focus our areas differently. Agreed, this flyer caters to a different crowd. That is because this party caters to a different crowd. While we still ask for the support of our friends as we continue to launch new concepts, we know the direction that we are going to go with each individual venture.

Keep in mind that we are hosting this in conjunction with several other rooms that include hip hop & other top 40 bullshit. By doing that we've already broken the rule of having an underground event with underground music that should cater to people simply looking for the next Buzz.

Now, we are advertising the party on this site because: Yes, we are sticking to an all EDM format. We see this as an opportunity to keep all of our friends united. The angle has changed but we still hold true to scene that we all grew up in. We're just doing things a little bit differently at first. Call it poppy if you want...

And thanks Schlitz, we DO need to advertise the type of music that we are presenting. Rob will get that fixed right away. Just keep in mind that whatever it is we are doing... we're not doing it blindly and that there is a reason for it.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on all of your points.....
I've always admired the tasteful way that you have incorporated the female figure into the flyers you have done for mosaic. When you compare what you have done with the snatch flyer, well lets jst say all of your points are easily visible. There are enough tacky flyers out there already, for the new venue and the new party, you guys should seriously take a cleaner/more functional approach. Adding visual elements to the flyer that have nothing to do with the concept takes away from the overall aesthetic if the flyer and also detracts from the image that you are representing yourselves with.

I think you should re-name the party COOTER! hehehe

Of course I wish you guys all the best, the space in the basement at Home is great for house/edm. It has a similar feeling as RED (nothing can be the same as RED of course, but the underground/personal vibe is there) We threw a House party there for around 5 months last year called Bassment Sessions. It was a lot of fun, but just make sure the management treats you with the same respect as the other promoters there. The whole elitist thing is very prevalent at Home. Also, make sure you are very clear with the door people, bouncers, etc to treat your guests with respect. they are used to turning people away that don't fit the "cheesy VIP dress code" as long as you keep the communication clear between management, the staff, and your people, you should be fine. And be ready to get a serious leg work out (promoters) from going up and down the stairs there....by the end of the night you can really feel the burn!

I'll tell you what made me REALLY happy though...
despite being forced to sit down for the PSB show at Radio City... at least beforehand i got to have Virgil's...

seriously... if you ever are in NYC looking for a place to eat I can't recommend the place enough...

get the hush puppies as an appetizer (don't ask me, I generally hate them)
and make sure you get the mashed potatoes and gravy as one of your sides -- best mashed potatoes I ever had in my life...

and their Brisket is damned good too...

My knowledge of this place is the only thing that makes me comfortable that Martha Stewart is the entity that she is (cause it was a CIO for MSLO that took me there the first time)
