yeah man, John Bowen original design in effect!
SEE-Iis gonna blow up the spot - they've been holding down their Wednesday nite residency since May and its been thick each & every week. 3 of the 6 members of See-I are actually part of Thievery Corporation and tour with them regularly - its a very talented band with some original material, and they usually break out into some reggae classics and old school dancehall joints too - not to be missed.
NAYAS is a wicked Latin Reggae group - very original sound, with members from Peru, Puerto Rico and elsewhere - they have a great following too, lots of lovely ladies out on the dancefloor, seen!?!
then SLANT & BJOO gonna add some wicked d&b flavas to the mix - and probably a reggae set by Slant too. all of this adds up for a great night of positive vibes, cool people, new music, tons of talent and a great venue. you know the code....
thanks for the support Jake - hope to see you there!
big ups

SEE-I
Exile Records/ESL Music
http://www.myspace.com/seei
Washington, DC
SEE-I have been a fixture on DC's underground for over a decade now - in fact, it was way back in 1996 when 2Tuff & See-I first linked up at RED when Rootz & Zeebo were providing lyrics & vocals over drum&bass dj's at weekly events "The Lab" and "Easy Cruisin'" Fast forward to 2006, and for the past 6 months SEE-I have been hosting "Rockas International" wednesdays at ESL - out on the patio all summer long. This has been a wicked party with great vibes, excellent tunes and guest musicians every week. Half of SEE-I also tours regularly with THIEVERY CORPORATION and Rootz & Zeebo have provided vocals on quite a few Thievery tunes as well (38.45, Assault on Babylon, Focus on Sight, Richest Man in Babylon, etc.). SEE-I have a great sound, playing roots reggae with plenty of soul, funk and latin flavors - always the right mix to get the dancefloor groovin'. Don't sleep on the SEE-I Massive - get ready for dis one.....

:ponder: i always miss these guys at the esl
i hear ya, going out on Wednesdays can be a tough one for real!
sometimes i try to stop by ESL on wednesdays for a short amount of time and end up staying til the very end! its hard to break away, so i've learned that if i cant stay late i dont go at all. once SEE-I starts playing, the red stripes are flowing and the ladies dancing - there is no turning back!!!
should be a fun one tonight for real - thick vibes.....
