Gabe is a really cool guy I've had before - he plays dnb, a good mix of hardstep and big beat. Very nice guy. :-)

Dion won't be able to play this week, so I'm trying to reach Superstar DJ Lantern to balance out the night with some Brokebeat Mountain action. Everyone should bug him to answer his phone instead of trying to call me back at 8:50 in the morning. ;)

Oh, and last week: It was definitely interesting to see Empath play all over the board like that; I've never seen ableton used live before so that was pretty neat. Rouge State played some KILLER tracks, and The Logic Theorist had some real gems as well. Also, next week we'll have a bit of dubstep and downtempo thrown in along with some dnb & breaks. I've been meaning to book some other forms of broken beat music in the true spirit of the party, I think it will be a real treat!

Just wanted to give a shout-out to the Alias crew that I'm back on the board. I didn't want to see Alias end, but I needed a break from the scene for quite a while. So I decided to "hand the proverbial torch" to Charly back in February. It's great to see that he's breathed new life into the party outside of Nation and great to see the same crew of regular faces spinning there and supporting things.

I'm still without a car so I don't have easy access to many events, but I tentatively plan to attend Alias this Thursday - a week before I spin a strictly old skool jungle set at Alias on Nov. 2.

I'm glad you gave it a chance and had a good time. It usually sounds better than that, however our sound guy had to work another gig for the first half of the night so we didn't get to set everything up properly -- we don't know his equipment well enough to make it shine (balancing those mids with the mids from the larger speakers is difficult!).

I'll have next week's info up today; just waiting on the dubstep ambassador to confirm his slot. Shade will be playing downtempo, DJ Nysus will be playing breaks, and Phaydn will be playing dnb. I'm trying to expand our horizons a little bit to evolve with the times, so if you want to see more of this sort of thing, please let me know by coming out!

November 2nd will be Myself & Jungle Jessi (It's our birthday party -- bring a camera), John Tab, Daniella Downs and Psykofly.

As always, call or email me! Let me know what you think! We're nearing the end of our trial period with the Envy, and the opinions of the Alias family will have a large influence on our future decisions. My main motivation to throw this party is to provide something fun for everyone to do every week, to give exposure opportunities, to hang out with great people, and to hear some kick ass music. :-)
