Artist Profiles:

Soloman-X

Soloman-X/Sol was introduced to drum & bass in 1996 by a friend and became a regular visitor at Chrome, Liverpool's original Drum&Bass event. After acquiring his first set of decks he became dedicated to perfecting his mixing style. It wasn’t long before various parties showed interesting in Sol and he was asked to play at Futurebounds’ night X. Later Sol became resident at Sophonic Sessions.

Now not only the owner and promoter of Sophonic Sessions, Sol also fronts the hugely successful nwdnb.co.uk website. Having played at every major event in Liverpool and Manchester he has been able to perform as far a field as Miami.

Through their involvement in the Liverpool scene it wasn’t to long before Xample & Sol realised they both shared similar musical tastes, this in turn led to them going into the studio. After gaining a release from their 1st ever track the pair have carried on producing and DJ-ing together under the guise of Xample & Sol

Sol has taken a break from producing recently to promote Metropolis in 6 major cities in the North West, with plans to extend further in 2006.

DJ Running Man

The Running Man has been mixing since 1992, making his radio debut on Flex 103.6 FM at the age of 16, shortly after becoming resident at a night put on by D.V.ANT Records at the Fridge Bar, Brixton. He became one of the original members of Shadow FM, and was playing alongside Twisted Individual, MC Jakes, Crystal Clear and many more. Running Man continued to play at nights for D.V.ANT which included the It's All Bollocks party's @ Brixton Academy & Mass, Trojan @ Mass, the D.V.ANT tent at the Legalise Cannabis Festival @ Brockwell Park and countless warehouse parties and illegal raves. Meanwhile he had begun writing and producing his own tracks, while studying acoustics, electronics, engineering and production techniques, eventually gaining the equivalent of 2 A'levels at these subjects and others. Since then he has remixed tracks for Argentinean rock & roll star David Lebon, licensed three tracks for a film by Winston Witter (check out www.rollingthroughthedecades.com to view the trailer), a British skateboarding documentary with a sound track that varies from The Stranglers to Bad Company UK. Unsocial Audio have released four of his tracks which have been played by Randall, Mampi Swift, Nicky Black Market, Ray Keith, Devious-D, Kane, DJ Ital, Ruffstuff, Swan-E, Peshay and many more (please visit www.unsocialaudio.com to listen to samples of DJ Running Man's work). He has worked with many different producers and artist, including one of Roots Manouva's producers, Gabriel Cornish. After doing the rounds on the illegal rave scene, The Running Man started getting spots at club nights such as Dekefex, Sub Noise, Education, Tempo, Get Naked and others. Last year Running Man, Jamma and the Unsocial Audio team promoted Legends Of The Dark Black @ Mass, which saw a good turn out of 900 people. He has played on radio stations such as Flex FM, Shadow FM, Pulse FM, Non Stop FM, Ruud Awakening, londonliveanddirect.com, ukrumble.co.uk, ukbassradio.co.uk, eternityradio.co.uk.
Running Man has several tracks forthcoming with us at RAW as well as Firewall Records, JSA Records & Buzzbee Recordings.

Lux

Lux has been producing for 4 years and has started to turn out his own style, with oldskool jungle and techno being his main influences. Lux has been spinnin' drum n bass tunes for 10 years, although not in the main stream, he was involved in the original Chrome nights (liverpool), this is what really pushed him to start producing and has been busy in the studio since.
Since the establishing of Raw recordings, Lux has moved forward with his first release with another 3 planned over the next 4 months, with Raw now moving from strength to strength things are looking good for 06/07.
