You might want to extend this to reasons #9 and #10 as well.

This is the biggest pile of shit that I've heard since that Roni Size attempt at a puck remix a few years ago.

Hey, crap will be made within all genres. Without crap, it's really hard to get a guage of what it true quality. The thing that gets me is that wherever this nonsense is taking place, it seems to be awfully fucking crowded.

.....damn sure didn't take place in Baltimore. Sorry Baltimore, but you certainly have it coming ;)

uhhh

I agreed, I've heard maybe, too many rmxs of this toon. But that shit is playin so fast, you could call it breakcore.

otherwise, I heart the metalness

I also agree that there is a right and wrong way to do everything

but if you're just makin the comment that heavy shit in general is crap then poo in your mouth and make you chew it and taste it and swallow it

I liked that video....

IMO honestly DNB has always seemed like the evill little brother of EDM much like death metal is to rock and roll.

Plus Slayer's "Reign in Blood" is a classic.

If that was to hardcore, maybe trance is more your style.

I find it funny that people still make comments like "all dnb is so evil blah blah". What is this 2001? I take it those people don't hear much dnb at all. Sit down and actually listen to various forms of dnb before you make retarded comments like that. As far as coming up w/ reasons for leaving dnb, who are you again? What have you done to contribute to the dnb scene in the past?? I say don't let the door hit you on the way out.

meh, you'll be back

btw, that was awesome. I really wouldn't call it dnb though. infact, it's way too chaotic...and to be honest, it's the best of the remixes i've heard because it keeps the spirit of the original more than using the original as a hook to get people in.

I couldn't take a whole set of that.

But complete sensory overload is a classic way to end a show. I love the whole concept of just overwhelming an audience with noise or deconstructing the music until you almost can't take any more.

I saw a Smashing Pumpkins show that ended with like 10 minutes of just basically guitar noise, and finally just Billy Corgan by himself on stage with the guitar on the ground, ripping the strings off of it one at a time.

Or radiohead shows ending with Johnny Greenwood slowly destroying an endless loop of Thom Yorke's voice on a Korg box.

just to clarify:

I really didnt leave dnb, but most of what has come out in recent years I think is poop. the 4.4 and amen just got so tired for me, with the exception of maybe 3% of what some producers are doing. I havent bought more than 6 dnb records in the past 28 months.

im glad I think dnb is (mostly) stale, it got me into breakcore. (btw this is bong ra live at decibelo, america does not have anything like this going on)

dont take it all to seriously guys, I just wanted to share something awesome I found with you:bonk:

I'm pretty sure it's Player - Angel of Theft (http://www.discogs.com/release/245068) which is dnb but produced a bit faster than 180 ot 185, but in this video, bong-ra plays it even faster, so it's no wonder it resembles break/grindcore bidness

this is bong ra, a breakcore producer from the netherlands. this video punched me in the balls it is so raw. since dnb got stale I picked up this genre, its actually pretty expansive and can be fairly downtempo/glitch. US breakcore shows arent on this scale, massives I guess you could say, but ive been to some in philly and pittsburgh and the producers here are showing promise.

please note I said "most" dnb and its just an opinion. weve had similair discussions on this board about modern dnb (not you and me personally) and I still browse the weekly releases from juno and redeye but rarely (and I mean RARELY) do I find a tune that smacks me around the way the sound used too. (if you got recommendations available for purchase on vinyl or download, music that really push the envelope, taking the scene somewhere new, id love to get your recommendations. Im interested in fresh bass sounds, hyper complex drum layers that really stand out, etc)

The last time I really enjoyed myself at a live dnb show was therapy sessions philadelphia from LAST YEAR. I loved every tune that way played that night, and I still love what freak is doing, tech itch, limewax and the bunch. There are still some producers pushing the envelope with dnb production but lets face it the majority of whats available sounds the same.

sway I think you asked for the other "7 reasons" (even though the title of the the thread was more for comic value and sarcasm than to get the dnb purists panties in a bunch) I dont reallty like the fact that ive been seeking out the same tunes from that therapy session (I think it was march 2005) and they STILL havent been released, or wont see a release at all.

so, yeah, sorry to offend the purists, dnb for life and all, just sharing some sick video action with the board.

Very good point - this genre especially is becoming more and more elitist as you have to be "in" with someone to get the best/newest tunes a lot of the time.
