i don't know...that whole thing...with the ipod being different colors...it just reeks of over-priced-by-a-metric-shit-ton-just-'cause-it's-a-different-color gimmickyness...

thats exactly what it is.
There are mp3 players out there that blow the ipod out of the water, and dont cost as much. ( like the one i have )
Apple is the bane of my existence.

well, it's not just different colors, supposedly it light up brighter, the battery lasts longer and now they have an 8gb version. also, it has a slightly different shape. it's more evolutionary than revolutionary.
I was hoping for word on this.

it's all screen, no more buttons. it's pretty neat.

u guys r missing the point of the new nano. they went with the same aluminum casing that the MINI had cause the first gen nano was a piece of shit that scratched and smeared way too easily. SO now its basically an Ipod mini but in the size of the nano and the new color graphics. its actually a very smart move.

in terms of battery life and durability yes. in terms of GUI interface and useability, hell no. The Ipod is designed brilliantly and thats why they r are the most popular, it isnt just marketing. the fuckers jsut need to sort the damn battery life issues. that shit does piss me off. However, I hate using other mp3 players, selecting tracks is a pain in the ass.

I have about 10,000 tracks on my gigabeat.
I never have any trouble finding anything.
They can be sorted by Album, Artist, Year, Genre, etc.
<3 my sleek, stealthy, black 60GB iPod.

mono: talking more about the wheels and selecting tracks. Never seen the GIgabeat though in person and it looks interesting. Although it seems like its much thicker than the Ipod based on the pics i saw on the web.
U ever play with players like the IRiver? Nagivating is a pain in the ass.

you know i have had 3 diffent MP3 players and the IPod was the best. In terms of usabilty and functions and things i could do. I had rca Lyra would let me do tracks on the fly and seem to list songs in its own retarded way. Then i had the arcos it was cool until for no reason it just died after a year. My ipod i did have to replace once but that was my own dumb fault I was biking with it and it fell out my pocket but i had ACPP so they replaced no problems even sent the the box free of charge over night.

Sandisk Sansa e260 (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202451683&adid=17662) now thats a bad ass mp3 player.. and 4 Gb for 129.... hell yeah.. It got good reviews from The Register (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/07/13/review_sandisk_sansa_e250/). "It's not as sleek as an iPod Nano, but the SanDisk Sansa e250 offers far more functionallity for less money.."

i really like the latest upgrade to itunes
Library Backup - A new “Back Up to Disc” menu lets you easily back up your entire iTunes library to CD or DVD.
Gapless Playback - Live albums, classical works, or any work that sounds best when it’s continuous, now seamlessly transitions from one song to another.
