ALIAS
:::New improvements every week! The ATM is now operational, the seating has been cushioned, and new beer taps are being installed over the course of this week. Things are shaping up nicely! I'm looking at the options for bringing in some additional sound, too.:::
This week's line-up & time slots...
09:00 - 10:30 :: Illicit (breaks)
10:30 - 11:30 :: Lantern (dnb/breaks)
11:30 - 12:30 :: Altered Encryption (dnb)
12:30 - 02:00 :: Definition Crew (Heist & TDB) (dnb)
For more information on the rest of the Alchemy line-up, keep an eye on www.alchemy-dc.com for updates.

:::OPEN BAR from 9 - 10PM:::
As always, email Muramasa (at) gmail (dot) com for the $5 reduced list (Normal Alchemy cover is $8, 2-for-1 from 9-10).
The roof that houses our weekly shenanigans:
2135 Queen's Chapel Rd NE
Washington, DC - Blue & white building. The Bladensburg exit is at the Checker's, and Queen's Chapel Rd is your first left after that.
(I recommend using maps.google.com)
Secured parking is only $5, but get there early! The lot fills up quickly on busy nights.
See you there!

I've been told that the computer system should be up and running this week, but I don't want to make any promises until I've seen it with my own eyes. I used the ATM myself last week, so I know it's up. :)

Question -- does anyone know a good spot in DC to get food post-Alias? Every week some friends and I wind up looking for a bite, but so far we've really only stumbled upon a Wendy's and a crappy 24 hour pizza place in Georgetown. :help:

Do you live near a metro? Maybe you could metro to someone who's driving anyway, so only the ride home would be the full way. Every little bit helps :thumbsup: Believe me, I know how much it sucks dealing with a midnight closing time for the metro and being carless. But such is life.

CHECKERS!
I *wish*. The Checker's is closed by the time I get out of there, sadly, and it taunts me every time I go in. Having to stay at work until 8pm and the need to be ready to open by 9pm gives me no opportunity to grab food after work, and I always have to be super careful about drinking. :-\

yea i'm not exactly sure how i'm gonna work it out. i mean i work in old town, and i'd probably be coming from work. so metro is accessable.

Just curious cuz I thought someone had said that there was some difficulties
the diner in admo
the steak 'n egg kitchen in tenleytown
lol @ steak n egg
that place is an afterhours AU staple. inexpensive small diner, but you've gotta be pretty hammered to enjoy the food there tho. however its clear across town from the tunnell.. but i guess on the way to Charly's.

Oh yeah, Peter -- THE DJ GAME
Scenario: There's no sound. The DJ determines that there should be sound, but for some reason, no sound is coming from the headphones/mixer/main system/monitors. Instantly, 3-10 DJs will storm the booth, hovering over the mixer and all cable connections, each one trying to be the first to determine what the problem is. Eventually, one of them will find the problem and say something (with great pride) to the effect of, "Oh, it was just that this wasn't connected/plugged in/turned on. I fixed it." All other DJs then proceed to sulk to the bar, and the DJ performing (if he wasn't the one who found the problem) will proceed to do his/her thing while carrying a beet red face of embarassment.
Not only am I an athelete in the great sport of 'find the sound', I'm a huge fan. I almost drop dead laughing every time this happens.
