<a name="cutid1"></a><div class="ljcut" text="More Here"> A new home for Alchemy is coming, in just 2-1/2 weeks.    Club Envy is 10,000 square feet, broken up into five spaces (one large, two medium, two small) plus several other smaller rooms on both the ground floor and upper level. All rooms on the ground floor are virtually wall-to-wall dance floor. The VDJ room and A.L.I.A.S. will both have much more room than before    There will be on-street parking, a secured lot that is only $5, and valet parking available for those who want to take advantage of it. In addition to the secured lot, the entire neighborhood will be watched by uniformed monitors.    There will still be open bar. Yes, Jay will be along, and Jessica & Kirstin who were on hand the last time Alchemy was at The Edge. We expect many other Nation bar staff will be as well. We'll let you know details once everyone else is confirmed.    Other staff will be a mix of familiar faces from Nation and other venues, all specifically chosen because they want to work with the Thursday night crowd.    We'll have an expanded vendor/local artist area, and a "Utility Room" where we will be able to have bands and DJs of various genres play without the "but a lot of people just want to hear the DJ and dance" conflict. We also will be featuring the CDs and merch of local artists in our vendor area as well.    There will be another announcement in the week before the grand re-opening with even more details.  We hope you will all be joining us in our great new home!

noway, that place sucked when dcskillz threw parties there...its ok think what you will, hate me, yell at me, flame me....but there is no way anyone can honestly say that venue was anything short of crap...ppls cars got broken into, no air conditioning, tiny little crappy side rooms

but hopefully its better now...i mean i guess i'll never know unless i go!

These were all HUGE concerns for us when we approached them about the venue.

That's why they've done the following:

More security for parking, and making security patrol along the entire parking area. (We're hiring extra security for this)
The entire air conditioning system has been updated. This was one of their main issues during the remodeling as I imagine it cost them bar sales. No one wants to party in a place that's too hot.
The main room has been divided into 3 rooms, Alias will be hosted in the center (red) room.

Your opinion is definitely important, I'm hoping that since your complaints are with the things we're working to make better that you'll give the place another shot. We've definitely got some great dnb & breaks on the way. :)

We're looking into getting a shuttle service while the metro is open, I think that's still being priced out.

I'm going to make a new Alias thread once all of the info is collected, keep an eye out. :)

It's a quick drive, but not in walking distance and I wouldn't feel comfortable taking the bus in that part of town that late at night -- and if I wouldn't do it, I'm not going to expect others to do it.

Yeah, I've been on the fence about it, but I think this week I'll let it stand as this thread. Alias vip list will still be in effect, but we're really striving to continue the crossover between crowds as a lot of the Alias crew will wander around the club to check things out and vice versa, and everyone seems to get along well. This new venue puts everyone a little closer down on the main floor (no more skip-ass Rubik room! Solid dance floor! Holy shit!), so the parties are more likely to see increased attendance/observation from one another. :)

Literally right next to the club, I was there in the daytime but I believe it's well-lit and it will be patrolled regularly throughout the night.

oh and next time, you might want to use natural rope, with tighter knots.. nylon tends to loose its strength in the extreme heat.
