No its part2 to the EP. I dont know where Trace gets the idea that selling 2 singles is a EP or 5 of them is a LP ....

personally I like this idea because lots of ppl always complaint about having to buy a whole ep or lp for 1 or 2 tunes so I see this as a good answer to unhappy djs not willing to pay 20 or 35 bucks for records ..yes more revenue is made by selling them as singles but labels have to make some sort of money to continue releasing tunes. what do u think?. :rastanana:

I think: if you dont have 4 tunes strong enuff to make a EP, then there is no need for a EP. As my answer to unhappy djs not willing to pay 20 or 35 bucks for records: get a new hobby or a better job. Yes labels have to make money to continue releasing music, but at the same I think im being taken as a sucker to say a single is a EP, or 5 of them is a LP for that matter, I think it seems whack. Although I did buy part 1, guess im a sucker for Dsci4 beats...

I understand what you saying and agree to an extend but you will never get a ep or lp that is going to please everybody no matter how strong and solid the tunes are ....there will always be ppl unhappy and bitching. Also, would you rather have djs stop buying vinyl at all because of high prices? or would you rather have them buy at least one record to somewhat keep the business going?. I dont see how ppl feel like they are taken as a sucker its just a title "ep or lp".... I mean a series like cover op's can be sold as a whole lp but instead they label it as series 1,2,3 etc...and customers are still subscribing to them and not feeling like they are taking as suckers. This is just my opinion tho and you dont have to agree with it. :plurstick:

My only thing is a EP- Is 2 records, a LP is 5.

I understand the whole thing of wanting to make more money, but for fucks sake dont call something a EP when its clearly a single. Obviously Trace knows what he is doing, so I'll leave it at that.

technically an ep is considered to have 4-8 records.

An extended play or EP, is the name given to vinyl records or CDs which are too long to qualify as singles but too short to qualify as albums. Typically an album has eight or more tracks (anywhere between 30-60 minutes), a single only one or two (5-15 minutes), and an EP four to eight (or around 15-35 minutes.) Some artists, especially in the days of vinyl, have released full-length albums that could fit the definition of a modern-day EP. (See Yes's Close to the Edge and Prince's Dirty Mind as examples.) A remix single is not considered an EP unless it also has other songs on it (an EP/single hybrid). The name "extended play" has become something of a misnomer, for though it originally was used for singles that were extended beyond the standard length, it is now more often synonymous with an album that is shorter than usual; indeed EPs are sometimes referred to as "mini-albums". For this reason, among others, they are referred to as "EPs", the full name being used much more rarely

i think its kind of weird to call it an ep if you have to buy them individually

call them part of a series, and release them individually

that makes more sense to me
