TONIGHT!!
Regretfully, I have to back out tonight.
An emergency work situation has come up that will prevent me from making it to DC until late.
My apologies, but this is something I can't get out of.
Hopefully there is someone that can fill my slot.

My dnb isn't too scared to come out.
It will be present at the Dirtbox Radio 4 year anniversay thing.
And it doesn't mind being bitten.
Or swallowed whole, for that matter.
My dnb is resilient.
And BTW, is that this Saturday?
Why have I not read anything about it on here??

Right on columbia rd.

i would also advise parking on 16th street and walking the two blocks

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this truly an unforgettable night!!
-Thanks to Jesse Tittsworth and Ed/Spiggy for the incredible after party sets!
-Thanks to Seba, Shane, Rob, Aimee, Curt, Ronda and Jason who helped with setup, badge give outs and overall organization (you guys ROCK!)
-Thanks to Ian, Peter and Tonya for helping at the last minute with the CDJ's!
(Please pardon me if I have somehow forgotten to list your name, remind me please for your addition)
A very special thank you to everyone involved and everyone who called up their friends, promoted this event and got the word out.
Last night is a true example of what this scene is about, I was literally choked up (and still am) to see everyone in one room all at once, just, having an absolute blast! It was a feeling I, for one, will never soon forget.
Audio & Video links will be up later tonight as I was up late and had to go to stupid work today.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Yeah... to whomever has my headphones -- keep them. I don't understand the kind of person who would steal from me, but they'll have to live with their own karma/conscience. That pair was about done anyway (over 3 years old), I have a much newer pair at home, and it wasn't enough to ruin my night. Who knows though - maybe it was some sort of freak accident and they'll turn up.

This was fun; thanks to Jeremy and the rest of the organizers for putting this together.
My own minute was plagued with technical problems and plain old confusion (I didn't fully realize that if Amanda went on at 8:40, her record would run from something like 8:40:00 to something like 8:41:30, Jessi's would run from ~8:41:30 to ~8:42:30, mine would run from ~8:42:30 to ~8:43:30, and I'd need to vacate the decks at ~8:43:00), but the whole experience was fun nonetheless.
Some memorable moments for me:
- Most impressive mix: Milo nailing the mix of out P. Vo's tune -- a tech-housey (I think) version of the Romantics' "Talking in Your Sleep" -- almost instantly, and keeping the mix going for the next 30 seconds or so until his minute was up.
- Most unexpected: In the midst of bangin' techno (if I remember correctly -- something relatively bangin', at any rate), 2rip throwing down a quirky, retro-sounding tune that turned out to be the theme from "The Price Is Right."
I'd also like to commend two drum'n'bass DJs (not sure of the names of either one): one whose tune had some reggae sections and a brief acapella, and another whose tune incorporated a surf-rock tune (I think it was Dick Dale & His Del-Tones' "Misirlou," which appears on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack). Oh, and whoever was playing the Bukem-esque atmospheric stuff.
