Richmond, where the f#&! yall at?
Cobra Kai Promotions would like to invite Richmond, VA to a new sort of dance night every fourth Thursday at the Nanci Raygun. The first party in our series, entitled “Sweep The Leg,” will be a Baltimore House-themed event. Baltimore House has its roots in Miami Bass, Hip-Hop, and Electronica; it came into existence in the early 90’s, and the scene is currently spreading to dance floors up and down the East Coast. The music has been described as “carnival music, manic beats and whistles, screams and shouts!"… “Sweep the Leg” will be Richmond’s first official Baltimore House dance party.
Our first event will feature special guest Tittsworth, as well as DJs Krames and Kool Kut Ninja to warm up the crowd. Tittsworth has frequented many venues in the DC/ Baltimore area and is now reaching out to other parts of the US . He's been invited to DJ with DJ Ayres in Williamsburg; has literally shut down an Oxycottontail party; has held down legendary Buzz dance crowds; and has shared decks with a long list of internationally respected DJ's. Tittsworth’s name is synonymous with Baltimore club and hip-hop, live and on the radio. His club mixes have been taking New York by storm and can be found on hipsters’ iPods everywhere.

Whether it's throwing his humongous almost-monthly party Making Time, a three-tiered extravaganza showcasing indie, britpop, rock and soul, with guests ranging from the Strokes to the Hives to Hot Chip, or getting cold and dark with his electronic party [click.], or touring Europe with the Soulwax DJs, or dropping remixes for the likes of Bloc Party, Dave is guaranteed to be shaking asses and turning you on to new sounds. This will be his second time at TaxLo and he's sure to turn it out.
Plastic Little : I don't know what it is about Philly that breeds dirty rappers. I don't know what it is about TaxLo that makes us bring them here. But Plastic Little's hilarious, clever, witty and filthy songs will have you hating yourself for loving them. They're about to finally drop their full-length, and with backing from cats like the Hollertronix crew and Spankrock, you know that shit is quality. Just make sure to keep your Dwight Yoakam hidden. This madness will be encompassing all three rooms of Sonar, and to top it off we've got a SPARKS OPEN BAR from 9-11! Phoenix and Lonnie Fisher will also be rocking your bodies this Friday... so please believe it's going to be sick.
