The long awaited follow up to Hunkle My Funkle/System 100 by Groove Allegiance has finally landed from the Mothership on Splank. Roland’s Revenge/A Good Day For Shirkin’ is available in all your fav record shops (I hope) and its much more funky than that rubbish West label (bring on the Funk Jihad boys).

Has received support from Annie Nightingale, Drumattic Twins, Nick Thayer, JDS, Malente etc etc.
Reviews in DJ Mag (4.5/5), iDJ (5/5), No 5 in Mixmag Breaks Chart Feb, 9/10 Readers Wives.

I was really impressed with this tune. Groove Allegiance can do no wrong right now, with kudos to Splank! records who have been pressing tons of great funk lately. Their tunes are simply timeless. Roland's revenge is a great early set tune for me. It's got the right ingredients to get everyone's attention, and is not so quiet to tell everyone that "it's ok...dance like a fool!" A Good day for shirkin is great for mixing. It doesn't simply drop out after a little intro, so you can really draw out the mix, keeping that bass and kick drum flowing. Later in the track there's some little beat and vocal stutters that chop up the flow a bit which is where the dj can tearing up some cuts. I'm all over this one.
