Yeha Alez Wizzard is the Lable owner of Gamma Ray. Real chill guy pushing the atmospheric sound since day 1. There are a bunch of talented guys in canada, too bad we dont get to hear them too often here in DC.

Every one check this mix. One of the best tunes of the year coming on this lable at the end of the month. He drops it around 26 minutes into this miz. Dissident - Universe eats universe. Some Blazin Bizz..

Alex Zakharov (otherwise known as Wizard) immigrated to Toronto, Canada from Russia back in 1994. His first jungle experience came shortly after when he heard Doc Scott’s “As Nasty As I Wanna Be” EP on Reinforced but he didn’t start taking the music seriously until he was exposed to LTJ Bukem’s legendary Logical Progression CD series back in 1997. The sound of Good Looking Records inspired him to start his own label and produce atmospheric/progressive drum’n’bass. Along with his ex-partner Wishmaster (Victor Vlassov), he launched the label in 1999 with Orion’s first ever release “Message Of The Ghost/Emerge”. Alex’s love for the music was very passionate but he wasn’t happy with the monopoly of the scene in Toronto and decided to throw his own events dedicated to atmospheric/progressive drum’n’bass, starting with the Gamma Ray Records launch party in Toronto in 1999. Along with Wishmaster, he went on to play his first international gig in Brighton, UK in 2000, which was the official launch of Gamma Ray Records. After releasing 3 more records by the likes of Chris J, ASC, Cable, F8 & Poseidon, Alex decided that he wanted to divert his attention to promoting parties locally.

With the collapse of the drum’n’bass giant Syrous, the path became wide open for diversity in drum’n’bass. To this date, Gamma Ray Productions have hosted top international acts such as Paradox, Blame, Klute, Flight, Rohan & Sileni. With Toronto’s scene reaching a healthy status in 2003 after 3 years of uncertainty, Alex decided to bring his record label back from the hiatus and start releasing vinyl again. It all started off with a memorable gig at the infamous Technicality family in London, UK. With the summer approaching, Alex has many plans for Gamma Ray Music, including upcoming releases by Toronto’s top dogs Gremlinz & Stranjah, the futuristic master ASC and more surprises later. Alex and his friend Stephanie have also started a Gamma Ray Bookings agency which is another part of his Gamma Ray Music umbrella. They plan to handle North American tour bookings from the likeminded artists and friends.

As a producer, Wizard tried testing his skills back in 2001. His first vinyl release was a collaboration with a long time friend Cable which came out on LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Records. It was a pleasing experience to release on the label that started it all for him. Since Alex has also released on c64’s Toronto local Make:Shift Recordings. More music is in the works for his own Gamma Ray imprint.

Since 1997, Wizard’s tastes in drum’n’bass have significantly expanded and become unpredictable where he teases the crowd with Noisia, Corrupt Souls, Blame & Swift tracks at drumfunk events and Seba, Paradox & 0=0 tracks while being surrounded by the darkside lovers. And if that’s not enough, he’ll drop an odd house, techno, trance, breaks or a hip hop classic to make you wonder what the hell is going on.
With the current musical trends looking as diverse as ever, Wizard hopes to contribute his part by breaking new artists with original visions and concepts without ignoring the dancefloor anthem culture.

Something different for DC :bounce:

last time i was at Daedalus was in 2003 when me and AB Logic were booked to spin hiphop there. it was the only time i've ever seen 40-year old white guys in suits who knew all the lyrics to every song on 50 Cent's album, and the only time i've ever seen a Snoop Dogg record clear the dancefloor.

SOUL4SALE has been spinning drum and bass since 2000. He enjoys all genres of DnB, however is strongly drawn toward the liquid funk genre as well as the full cycle sound and anything with an obvious soul. He fell in love with ragga jungle when he was 16 it was this genre that spawned his desire to dj. Ever since, he has been on a mission to locate and secure his favorite original tunes from years previous to 2000. As a result his record collection is varied, extensive and weighted heavilly with classics. SOUL4SALE met up with axiom, ABLOGIC, and Godafather Sage while in school. It was with these fellow DJs and producers he perfected his mixing skills and dove deeply in to the culture of electronic music. He currently is a monthly resident at "the sound of japone."

Surprisingly Eric the parking is real good. Since there are no other clubs that I know of within a 2-3 blocks radius of this venue.

I actually went there 2 weeks ago on a saturday and was able to get a parking spot right on the same block as the venue.
Also the venue is right across from the Bike Courier Park and there is loads of parking there and also across from the Strip Club "Archibalds"

So yeah I dont think parking will be a big issue.
